Synopsis

Daniel Carter rarely has time for fun. He teaches college freshmen in the mornings, works on his thesis in the afternoons, and delivers pizza at night for a vindictive boss. Life is hectic but the one bright spot in his days is Julius Tanner, one of the nicest guys around. He's also ridiculously sexy and doesn't see Daniel as more than a colleague. But he can dream.
When Julius unexpectedly asks for help, it's a chance for Daniel to get to know him better. What Daniel discovers is the cutest pug ever, and a man he wants to be with, in the worst way. But how can he ever measure up? Still, between the drudgery of pizza delivery, quirky customers, and apathetic students, Julius becomes a constant in Daniel's life. Can they be more than friends?

No one mourns the living dead. In the isolated town of Cairney, the Angel of Death, under specific circumstances, allows the dead to return to life ? but not always as desired. For Friede Inkerman, pianist to Cairney' s sacred funerals, Death' s gift is a curse, not a blessing. All she wants after being murdered by her wife and resurrected against her will is to finally rest in peace, free from the grief and suspicion that ostracize her from the rest of her death-worshipping town. On Allhallowsmas, Friede' s hope of passing on to eternal rest is dashed when Death' s sacred relic is stolen and the acolyte who guards it is brutally slain, putting all the dead souls in Cairney at risk of fading into oblivion at sunset. Friede also can't ignore how much the murder resembles her own ? an echo too haunting to dismiss. Clinging to her last happiness, her oldest friend Bastian, Friede descends into Cairney' s secrets to set things right and see her last wish granted. But Cairney is a town where nothing stays buried forever, and Friede' s search for answers unearths a plot born of ritual magic and twisted devotion that threatens everything she holds dear in her dead heart. An elegantly haunting, visceral work of supernatural horror blending gothic mystery and slow-burn psychological terror about a devout small town' s reckoning with death and the love that transcends it.

Dan Cole disappointed his parents when he decided not to go to college. Instead he tried a career as a mixed martial arts fighter. One particularly memorable match was against Casey Shaw, and Dan found it a case of either tap out or pass out. Dan chose the former. To his surprise, Casey invited Dan out for a drink after the match and they agreed to stay in touch. Believing Dan needed a ring name, Casey starts calling him Dan "Cool" Cole.
Dan eventually realizes he'll never make it in MMA. With his parents' help, he hies himself off to college. Specifically, Colby State, the alma mater of both his parents.
Casey, who's already a student at Colby, offers to share an off campus apartment with Dan, who readily agrees. Dan finds it hard to live up to his Cool nickname where Casey is concerned. Dan is attracted to Casey, but Casey believes that as they look so much alike, dating Dan would be like dating his brother.
Casey appears uncomfortable at the number of sex partners Dan has, and Dan is jealous of the time Casey spends with their upstairs hunky neighbor. Will the two former fighters continue to just circle each other, or will they finally get physical and both end up winning?
