Synopsis

A collection of playful, often funny, stories to delight children ages 6-10 (and above) 
While these stories have been written for children to enjoy, like secretly hidden veggies in a hamburger patty, as a parent or teacher you can trust that there is also a lot of nourishing stuff embedded within. Written by a mother who is trained as a primary teacher, the content is based on things that kids love, and the language is designed to develop vocabulary as well as to be entertaining. Many of the stories play with rhyme and invented words and sounds to encourage imagination, and use repetition to develop reading skills. The stories also give a lot of reference to concepts of counting and sequencing which are foundational maths skills. A number of the stories invite the listener to do their own imaginative thinking. This collection gives life to the concept that children learn best when they are having fun.
