Synopsis

Steampunk Jungle-The Whispers of Destiny is about a world where all metal and hybrid metal animals, crafted by long-lost metal workers, have become the guardians of nature's legacy. The Heart of the Jungle, a mystical diamond that grants these creatures life, whispers to a girl of mixed heritage (being half black, half white), Elysia, a descendant of the metal workers, revealing the secret of their existence. Together with a group of all metal and hybrid metal creatures along with a band of humans, she embarks on a quest to protect the Heart from invaders seeking to exploit its power.

Through battles, revelations, and the discovery of ancient whispers, they learn the true value of unity and the importance of protecting their world. As the whispers guide them, they form an unbreakable bond, transcending the boundaries of their creation to embody the essence of life itself.

The whispers of the Heart weave through the story, a reminder of the fragility and strength of existence, guiding them towards a future where flesh and steel walk hand in hand.

    "ARE THEY THE GODS?"
    The Dwellers of the Rock.
They could create matter with the power of their minds. Any element, any molecule, any form; they could call it into being with a thought.
    Even living flesh.
They could travel to the edge of their universe, without ships to carry them, and send their minds to visit other worlds without moving a step.
All knowledge and learning was theirs for the taking.
They never tired, never hungered. They had peace and purpose and, eventually, fulfilment.
And they knew where they would go when, at last, they died.
But then, the Beyonders came. Strange creatures, they were, lost and separated from their own reality.
The Dwellers rescued them, brought them back from the brink of death. They welcomed them and gave them the power to create matter for themselves.
And these strange creatures brought them destruction in return.

From “one of the greatest writers of this century,” a fantasy masterpiece about the aftermath of a marriage between a mortal prince and an elfin princess. —Arthur C. Clarke   Before the fellowships and wardrobes and dire wolves . . .    . . . there was the village of Erl and the Kingdom of Elfland.   Considered formative to the development of the fairy tale and high fantasy subgenres, The King of Elfland's Daughter follows Alveric, who leaves home on a quest with a few basic instructions: locate the Princess Lirazel in Elfland, convince her to return to Erl and marry him, and together produce the first magical Lord of Erl.   But what happens when a village gets exactly what it asked for?   How does an elf learn to live as a human?   Is love lost once, lost forever?   The people of Erl are about to find out.   Take a walk through the fields we know and see if you can spot the pale-blue peaks of the Elfland Mountains. Fans of J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, and Neil Gaiman will adore Lord Dunsany’s influential 1924 classic as much as those authors themselves did.   “No amount of mere description can convey more than a fraction of Lord Dunsany's pervasive charm.” —H. P. Lovecraft   “We find that he has but tranfigured with beauty the common sights of the world.” —William Butler Yeats   “No one can understand modern fantasy without understanding its roots, and Lord Dunsany's work is immediately significant as well as enjoyable even today.” —Katharine Kerr   “A fantasy novel in a class with the Tolkien books.”—L. Sprague de Camp

Jane Wilson disappeared when she was a child. When she learned to make herself invisible, her teachers made her disappear from Neighborlee Children's Home. And just in time, too -- before some nasty folks known only as the Rivals tried to take her away, to turn her into a weapon.

Years later, she used her semi-pseudo-superhero powers to become the Ghost, defender of the little town of Fendersburg. The plan was to attract the attention of the Rivals, and lure them into a trap. Unfortunately, the people of Fendersburg got lazy, and soon grew so dependent on the Ghost to fix all their problems, they stopped thinking for themselves.

So Jane quit being the Ghost. In the wake of the odd events during the holidays in Neighborlee, she returned to her roots. Her mission:
Find out what happened to all the Lost Kids who lived in Neighborlee Children's Home.
Find out what the Rivals are looking for in Neighborlee.

Good witch by vocation, bad witch by reputation.

Things are going great! I survived the sabotage of my witch shop and a murder attempt, my business and personal life are thriving, and Ian's estranged half brother and local shifter alpha wants me to make him a dark magic potion.

    Okay, maybe not that great.

Turns out, Hutton has been keeping a huge secret, and he needs dark magic to keep it that way before a group of visiting "friendly" alphas figure out something's up and make a move on his territory.

Problem is, the kind of potion Hutton needs is well beyond a good witch's power, and if I don't figure something out, not only will the pack lose their home, but Hutton will blame me and take my shop and dreams down along with him.

With time running out, what's a witch to do but shore up on affirmations, involve a certain bounty hunter who doesn't want to get involved, and bend a few rules?
