Synopsis

A problem that seems to be spreading across globally at an
alarming rate – cybercrime seems to have annihilated millions.
There is none that spared. There is always a mind working on
how to breach the security of the cyberspace. Besides the
smaller cybercrimes committed for money the more serious
ones include drug dealings, pornography, prostitution, cyber
stalking and stealing your identity. There is a long list of
cybercrimes committed throughout the world and this list just
seems to be increasing. Human mind is unfathomable and
some of them are exceptionally astute and some of such minds
go astray. It is a matter of time that technology developed for
security is overpowered by someone, which is why there is no
space for anything obsolete in the cyber world. The offenders
look for system's that are obsolete and can be broken into.
The phrase 'prevention is better than cure' cannot be used in
a better place than here. Safeguarding the system and using
the best possible anti-virus helps in shunning the offenders.
There is a long trail of cybercrimes that have left marks deep
enough to be remembered by mankind. The damages are
economic, political and at times social.

Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Alexander von Humboldt was a Prussian geographer, naturalist, explorer, and influential proponent of romantic philosophy. Many consider him to be the last of the great polymaths. After his death in 1859, the scientific world began to divide into separate disciplines, each with its own knowledgeable but narrowly defined experts. Humboldt’s mind encompassed all that was then known of nature in one great whole. He could well be considered the father of modern ecology and earth studies. His great scientific and literary achievement was the multi-volume Cosmos, twenty years in the writing, in which he attempted to describe the known physical world. Humboldt’s lyrical style of writing influenced the subsequent genre of nature writing as well as many of the towering figures of the Romantic movement. This Librivox recording is of the Introduction to Cosmos. The Introduction gives a good measure of breadth of Humboldt’s mind and is a pleasure to read or hear because of its literary felicity. This reading omits the copious footnotes in favor of maintaining the flow of thought of the body of the text. Also included are the translator’s preface which contains a short biography of Humboldt as well as the author’s own preface. - Summary by Wikipedia and david wales

"A History of the Warfare of Science with Theology in Christendom" by Andrew Dickson White is a seminal two-volume work that delves into the prolonged struggle between science and religious orthodoxy throughout Western history. White, co-founder and first president of Cornell University, provides a comprehensive account of how religious dogma frequently stood in opposition to scientific advancements, from the age of Galileo to Darwinian evolution. He posits that this clash hindered intellectual progress and societal development, but also acknowledges the instances where religion fostered the growth of scientific understanding. Through detailed historical analysis, White underscores the necessity of maintaining a clear separation between theological beliefs and empirical investigation for the unhindered progress of knowledge.

The Jupiter Sun - The Greatest...

This book was inspired by my previous work of Science Fiction in: 'The Book To End All Books'. At the climactic conclusion of that book, I realized that we didn't have the 1,000 years I gave humankind to create a 2nd sun in the sky. We would be extinct by then and long buried in the debris of our own destruction.
So, I decided to put all the speculative knowledge that I had learned from my science fiction novel into use in this book in hopes that perhaps humanity would be wise enough to give it a try. We can do this. We can ignite Jupiter and create a 2nd sun. And, I also answer the question - Why would we do this?
Humanity has some major challenges to its continued existence that are caused by our technology. But now we have the opportunity to use our advanced space and rocket technology and our laser Fusion Reactor technology to combine them into a major project for the world to take on.
We can use our current knowledge of nuclear fusion and space travel to send a team to create a station on the four moons of Jupiter and shoot high energy red laser beams into the hydrogen core of Jupiter to ignite the gas giant into a 2nd sun in our sky. Don't worry - Jupiter is five times further away from us than our present sun, so it would not create any significant amounts of additional heat. It's also 1,000 times smaller than our 1st sun, so again, we have nothing to fear from increased heat. BUT, we would gain twice as much FREE AND SUSTAINABLE SOLAR ENERGY from another sun and this could be utilized by both the Earth and Mars to save our species.
