Sinossi

The Dunwich Horror is a short story by H. P. Lovecraft. It takes place in Dunwich, a fictional town in Massachusetts and is considered one of the core stories of the Cthulhu Mythos.

In the isolated, desolate and decrepit village of Dunwich, Wilbur Whateley is the hideous son of Lavinia Whateley, a deformed and unstable albino mother, and an unknown father (alluded to in passing by mad Old Whateley, as "Yog-Sothoth"), and strange events surround his birth and precocious development. Wilbur matures at an abnormal rate, reaching manhood within a decade, locals shun him and his family, and animals fear and despise him (due to a smell he gives off). All the while, his sorcerer grandfather indoctrinates him into certain dark rituals and the study of witchcraft.

Wilbur wants to acquire an unabridged Latin version of the Necronomicon so that he may open the way for the return of the mysterious "Old Ones", whose forerunner is the Outer God Yog-Sothoth. Thus, Wilbur and his grandfather have sequestered an unseen presence at their farmhouse; this being is connected somehow to Yog-Sothoth. Year by year, this unseen entity grows to monstrous proportions, requiring the two men to make frequent modifications to their residence. People begin to notice a trend of cattle mysteriously disappearing. Wilbur's grandfather dies. His mother disappears soon afterward. The colossal entity eventually occupies the whole interior of the farmhouse.

"A Reminiscence of Dr. Samuel Johnson" is a short story written in 1917 by American horror fiction writer H. P. Lovecraft. It was first published in the September 1917 issue of the United Amateur, under the pseudonym Humphrey Littlewit, Esq.The story is a spoof of Lovecraft's antiquarian affectations. Littlewit, the narrator, is born August 20, 1690–200 years to the day before Lovecraft's birthdate—making him nearly 228 years old as he writes a memoir.Critic Daniel Harms writes, "While not one of the most inspired of his pieces, it at least shows that HPL realized his pretensions... of being an older, cultured gentleman of an earlier era, and could make fun of himself."

The Enchanted Typewriter is a collection of short stories by the American author John Kendrick Bangs, written in 1899 in the style that has become known as Bangsian fantasy. Bangs attributes many of the stories to the late (and invisible) James Boswell, who has become an editor for a newspaper in Hades, and who communicates with the author by means of an old typewriter. The fantasy stories in this book are part of the author's Hades series, named for the stories' setting. (Summary by Wikipedia)

    Description:
The White Ship is a haunting and dream-laden voyage into realms beyond mortal reckoning, where longing becomes both compass and curse. Set upon a lonely headland overlooking an ancient sea, the tale follows Basil Elton, a solitary lighthouse keeper who is summoned by a mysterious white vessel to sail toward lands of impossible beauty and perilous promise. Each shore he visits offers visions of wonder, knowledge, and transcendence—yet beneath their splendor lies a growing sense of cosmic inevitability and loss.
In this early masterwork, H. P. Lovecraft crafts a lyrical meditation on aspiration, illusion, and the fragile boundary between dream and waking ruin. The prose drifts with hypnotic elegance, yet carries an undercurrent of dread, as each paradise reveals itself to be but another veil before ultimate disillusionment. Themes of yearning, forbidden wisdom, and the indifferent vastness of the cosmos echo throughout the voyage, culminating in a revelation as stark and unforgiving as the sea itself.
Narrated by Amazon-bestselling horror author Jonathan Dunne, this performance captures the story’s ethereal beauty and creeping melancholy, drawing listeners into a reverie where hope and hubris sail hand in hand. The White Ship endures as a timeless exploration of the human hunger for transcendence—and the devastating cost of pursuing realms never meant for mortal souls.
