Synopsis

🌀 Hand-spinner and fiber artist Spinny Beck is hosting her monthly spinning circle when the circle's most competitive member—a notorious fiber hoarder—is found dead in her studio, tangled in a massive pile of yarn spun from her own antique spinning wheel. The police suspect a bizarre accident, but Spinny notices the wheel's drive band has been deliberately frayed and the victim's fiber stash contains rare breeds that don't match her purchase records. With her spinning circle shattered by suspicion and her studio temporarily closed, Spinny must draft her way through the investigation. Assisted by her loyal spinning friends and the handsome sheep farmer tracking missing rare breeds, Spinny uncovers a scheme involving stolen fleeces, counterfeit exotic fibers, and a black market for heritage breed wool. From suspicious twist angles that reveal multiple spinners to fiber preparations that don't match the victim's technique, every spun yard tells a story. But when Spinny discovers the victim was systematically acquiring—through questionable means—every rare fleece in the region to control the luxury fiber market, she realizes the killer is protecting a farming legacy more precious than any hand-spun yarn. With the annual fiber festival approaching and the real culprit still spinning lies, Spinny must ply together the truth before her own story gets permanently wound up.
