Synopsis

🧵 Antique pincushion collector and textile historian Penny Pincher is hosting a pincushion exhibit at her vintage shop when the exhibit's wealthy lender—a notorious collector with sharp business practices—is found dead in her store, a rare Victorian pincushion pin mysteriously lodged in his neck. The police suspect a bizarre accident, but Penny notices the pincushion's stuffing contains modern materials and the victim's collection ledger shows suspicious acquisition dates. With her shop closed for investigation and the collecting community buzzing, Penny must stick to the facts to solve this pointed mystery. Assisted by her antique dealer friends and the handsome museum conservator analyzing textile artifacts, Penny uncovers a scheme involving pincushion forgery, stolen textile artifacts, and a black market for antique sewing tools. From suspicious embroidery patterns that don't match the era to fabric wear that reveals artificial aging, every pin mark tells a story. But when Penny discovers the victim was systematically acquiring museum-quality pieces through questionable means to build a world-class collection, she realizes the killer is protecting a textile heritage more precious than any antique. With the exhibit opening soon and the real culprit still pinning blame elsewhere, Penny must thread the needle of truth before she becomes the next target in this sharp-witted game.
