🏡 The historic Blackwood Manor boarding house is known for its quirky tenants and cozy atmosphere, but the peace is shattered when the most disliked resident—a man who made a hobby out of blackmailing his neighbors—is found dead at the bottom of the grand staircase. The police rule it an accident, but the manor's owner, Eleanor Blackwood, knows her creaky old staircase better than anyone and is sure it was murder. To protect her other tenants and her family's legacy, Eleanor launches her own investigation. With help from her elderly, astute pug, Winston, and a mysterious new tenant with a hidden past of his own, Eleanor uncovers a web of secrets within her own walls. Every tenant becomes a suspect, each with a motive and something to hide—from stolen heirlooms and forged identities to secret romances and past crimes. As a storm traps everyone in the manor, Eleanor realizes the killer is still among them, and she might be the next target. Can she unmask the menace before the killer decides to make the boarding house a permanent residence?
