When aspiring archaeologist Leo Vance discovers a fragmented journal hinting at the lost treasure of the Sun Serpent—an artifact said to control the very seasons—he launches an expedition into the most treacherous mountain range on earth. Joined by a disgraced historian who knows too much about the mountain's dark history and a local guide whose family has guarded its secrets for generations, Leo must navigate ancient booby traps, solve puzzles carved in forgotten languages, and evade a rival treasure hunter who will stop at nothing to claim the power for himself. Deep within the caverns, they find that the legends are real, the traps are alive, and the mountain itself seems to be fighting back. But the greatest danger may not be the collapsing tunnels or venomous serpents—it might be the temptation of a power that no human should ever possess.
