Synopsis

🍗 Southern cook and family restaurant owner Gravy Jones is preparing for her small town's annual Thanksgiving potluck when the meal's most demanding guest—a notorious food critic threatening to expose family recipes—is found dead in her kitchen, a ladle of suspicious giblet gravy spilled across his notepad. The police suspect a kitchen accident, but Gravy notices the giblets have been deliberately substituted and the victim's tasting notes contain coded symbols about recipe theft. With her family's restaurant reputation on the line and Thanksgiving dinner in jeopardy, Gravy must simmer through the suspects to save her grandmother's legacy. Assisted by her kitchen staff and the handsome food historian analyzing traditional cooking methods, Gravy uncovers a scheme involving recipe espionage, ingredient substitution, and a plot to commercialize family secrets. From suspicious gizzard textures that reveal improper cleaning to herb combinations that don't match her family's century-old recipe, every spoonful tells a story. But when Gravy discovers the victim was systematically collecting small-town family recipes to sell to a corporate food chain, she realizes the killer is protecting culinary heritage richer than any gravy. With the Thanksgiving feast hours away and the real recipe thief still stirring up trouble, Gravy must thicken the plot before her family's traditions get permanently watered down.
