Hans Christian Andersen was a Danish author. Although he was a writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales. When he became famous he travelled all over Europe, Africa and Asia. Hans Christian Andersen was a unique figure in Danish literature - Andersen's fairy tales were translated into more than 125 languages. This story article was written by an author in 1852.
