  It is an honor and a privilege to be an ally to a survivor of sexual assault. She allows you close to her pain and you help her heal—with no expectations on her. It’s not a commitment to enter lightly. 
  If Jesus has burdened your heart for a survivor, but you don’t know what to do, start with this book. It will take work, prayer, and patience, but she’s worth it. 
    
  The book has four main sections: 
  1) What it means to be a survivor. 
  2) What it means to be an ally. 
  3) How to be an ally. 
  4) Reach out to her. 
    
  My intent is to break your heart and prepare you to be the ally your survivor friend needs. You will learn about the crime, read four other books (listed below), and then, with your friend’s permission, you’ll write a series of letters meant to encourage her and build an allyship. It’s a process designed around her, her needs, and her safety. 
    
  And who am I, you ask? I’m no one special, but God used my friendship with a survivor to call me to this work. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many more, and their voices are found all through this text. My hope is to encourage men to get involved in allyship and advocacy.

  Justice is a fundamental concept that has shaped human societies for centuries. It refers to the principles of fairness, equality, and moral rightness that govern interactions between individuals, communities, and institutions. In its broadest sense, justice is about ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness, regardless of their background, status, or circumstances. It encompasses a wide range of areas, including law, ethics, politics, and social relationships, all of which are vital to creating a balanced and harmonious society. 
  The importance of justice cannot be overstated. Without it, societies risk descending into chaos and inequality. History provides numerous examples of injustice, from oppressive regimes to discriminatory practices, that have caused harm to individuals and groups. At its core, justice aims to prevent harm and ensure that people receive what they are due – whether that be rights, resources, or recognition. It seeks to promote fairness, resolve disputes, and protect the vulnerable, while holding individuals accountable for their actions. 
  Justice is not a one-size-fits-all concept. It is influenced by various philosophical and cultural perspectives that shape how it is understood and applied. In Western thought, justice has often been closely tied to concepts such as the rule of law, individual rights, and democratic governance. In other cultures, justice may be framed through the lens of collective responsibility, harmony, or social roles. These differing perspectives reflect the complexity of justice as a concept and the challenges in applying it universally.

  One of three volumes responding to the 7 October attack, Law and Society begins with a legal and a genocide studies critique of the claim that Israel is genocidal; another reflects on the absence of an understanding of antisemitism in international legal discourse. 
  There are reflections on experiences in the Palestine solidarity movement and on the twists that discourse there takes. Contributions draw on Judaism, feminism, and sociology to face what happened and to trace how Israelis were transported back to a quintessentially pre-Israel Jewish experience. Others survey reports of antisemitism around the globe in the wake of 7 October, including pieces about Britain and Germany. 
  This work will appeal to scholars, students, and activists with an interest in antisemitism, Jewish studies, and the politics of Israel.

She provides the tools and anecdotal evidence to show them how to overcome the pain of self-sabotage and create the life they desire.
