The Science of Getting Rich is the classic guide to creating wealth through the Law of Attraction. First published in 1910, a hundred years later it inspired Rhonda Byrne's bestselling book and movie, The Secret. According to Wallace D. Wattles, "There is a science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches; once these laws are learned and obeyed by any man, he will get rich with mathematical certainty."

"The Mystery of Marie Rogêt", often subtitled A Sequel to "The Murders in the Rue Morgue", is a short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe written in 1842. This is the first murder mystery based on the details of a real crime. It first appeared in Snowden's Ladies' Companion in three installments, November and December 1842 and February 1843. Poe referred to it as one of his "tales of ratiocination".
Poe's detective character C. Auguste Dupin and his assistant, the unnamed narrator, undertake the unsolved murder of Marie Rogêt in Paris. The body of Rogêt, a perfume shop employee, is found in the Seine, and the press takes a keen interest in the mystery. In the story, Dupin explains that "it is the object of our newspapers rather to create a sensation—to make a point—than to further the cause of truth",[2] and proceeds by exposing the contradictions in their theories. Even so, he uses the newspaper reports to get into the mind of the murderer.

The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka is a haunting and thought-provoking novella that delves into themes of alienation, identity, and the human condition. The story begins with Gregor Samsa, a traveling salesman, waking up one morning to find himself transformed into a giant insect. This surreal event triggers a cascade of personal and familial upheavals as Gregor struggles to adapt to his new reality. As Gregor's condition isolates him from society and his family, Kafka masterfully explores the fragility of human relationships and the burden of societal expectations. The novella's sparse, yet evocative prose immerses readers in a world where the absurd becomes a lens for examining profound existential questions. The Metamorphosis remains one of the most celebrated works of modernist literature, offering a timeless exploration of the boundaries of humanity, the nature of compassion, and the search for meaning in an indifferent world.

The God of His Fathers: Tales of The Klondyke, It was written by Jack London in the 1919 year.
As a young man in the summer of 1897, Jack London joined the Klondike gold rush. From that seminal experience emerged these gripping, inimitable wilderness tales, which have endured as some of London's best and most defining work. With remarkable insight and unflinching realism, London describes the punishing adversity that awaited men in the brutal, frozen expanses of the Yukon, and the extreme tactics these adventurers and travelers adopted to survive.
This is more literary, a deeper examination of the human condition, and a homage to the beauty, purity and ease with which one can lose one's life to nature, the elements or other fellow travelers.
