Sinossi

Game culture and material culture have always been closely linked. Analog forms of rule-based play (ludus) would hardly be conceivable without dice, cards, and game boards. In the act of free play (paidia), children as well as adults transform simple objects into multifaceted toys in an almost magical way. Even digital play is suffused with material culture: Games are not only mediated by technical interfaces, which we access via hardware and tangible peripherals. They are also subject to material hybridization, paratextual framing, and processes of de-, and re-materialization.

Family caregivers struggle with keeping their heads above water while caring for an impaired loved one. Most caregivers feel their well-being is sacrificed for the well-being of their loved ones. Hanging on until their loved one passes away is simply not acceptable for a caregiver to live a healthy life. Caregivers can live a life of meaning—and not just simply survive. A Minute for Caregivers offers families with special needs children, aging parents, wounded warriors, trauma victims, mental illness, addiction, and any other chronic impairment "just in time" practical, emotional, and spiritual help in dealing with the (often) traumatic challenges of caring for an impaired loved one.

John Alexander Dowie (1847-1907) was a Scottish evangelist and faith healer who came to San Francisco in 1888 and built up a following by performing faith healing across the state. Later, Dowie gained fame by renting property adjacent to the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893. There he staged elaborate "divine healings" in front of large audiences.
In 1900 he announced the founding the city of Zion, 40 miles from Chicago, where he owned all the property personally. He established a range of businesses and healing homes and a large tabernacle. Dowie was for total reliance on divine healing and against the use of all forms of medicine. Dowie was a forerunner of Pentecostalism, and many of his followers became influential figures in the early 20th century revival.

Black Hawk Down: The Truth Behind the Fog
    By Naveed Ali Sheikh
An elite U.S. task force descends on the Olympic Hotel to capture top warlords. Within hours, the mission spirals into chaos: two Black Hawk helicopters shot down, American soldiers pinned under relentless fire, and the streets of Somalia ablaze with rage.
What the world saw was a tragic tale of courage and loss.
What it didn’t see was who came to save them.
In this groundbreaking and controversial account, Naveed Ali Sheikh unearths the suppressed truth behind Operation Gothic Serpent—the role of the Pakistani Armed Forces, who spearheaded the rescue of trapped American Delta Force and Rangers when no one else could.
Drawing from eyewitness testimonies, military records, and declassified sources, Sheikh sheds light on the unrecognized heroism of Pakistani UN troops who fought through enemy lines, held their ground under intense fire, and pulled the wounded from the jaws of certain death.
This is not just a retelling of a failed mission—
It is a correction of the historical record.
It is the voice of the forgotten.
It is the truth behind the fog.
Daring. Unflinching. Necessary.🖋️ About the Author

This book a reference guide to mystical and magical orders around the world. Major religions are not the focus although I do in include some mystical organizations within some religions. These organizations include Jewish Kabbalah in Judaism, and the Sufis in Islam. There are many societies around the world which don’t fall into the standard religious categories. Some are spiritual in nature, and the ones listed here are those which follow some types of mystical and/or spiritual practices or beliefs. Many of these organizations subscribe to the beliefs that through our own efforts we can develop our spiritual abilities which can do amazing things. The groups listed are also current and have active members in our world. I’ve also included some metaphysical organizations which also have spiritual goals but may also include a focus on the mystical. There is also some history of the usage of psychedelic plants for spiritual and paranormal experiences. (Disclaimer: these can be very dangerous and should only be done with experienced practitioners.)Not included are organizations who worship or follow Satan or the Devil.
