Beschreibung

Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert Madame Bovary, originally published as Madame Bovary: Provincial Manners (French: Madame Bovary: Mœurs de province [madam bɔvaʁi mœʁ(s) də pʁɔvɛ̃s]), is the debut novel of French writer Gustave Flaubert, published in 1856. The eponymous character lives beyond her means in order to escape the banalities and emptiness of provincial life.

When the novel was first serialized in Revue de Paris between 1 October 1856 and 15 December 1856, public prosecutors attacked the novel for obscenity. The resulting trial in January 1857 made the story notorious. After Flaubert's acquittal on 7 February 1857, Madame Bovary became a bestseller in April 1857 when it was published in two volumes.

A seminal work of literary realism, the novel is now considered Flaubert's masterpiece, and one of the most influential literary works in history. The British critic James Wood writes: "Flaubert established, for good or ill, what most readers think of as modern realist narration, and his influence is almost too familiar to be visible."

Madame Bovary takes place in provincial Northern France, near the town of Rouen in Normandy. Charles Bovary is a shy, oddly dressed teenager arriving at a new school where his new classmates ridicule him.

He struggles his way to a second-rate medical degree, and becomes an Officier de santé in the Public Health Service. He marries the woman his mother has chosen for him, the unpleasant but supposedly rich widow Héloïse Dubuc. He sets out to build a practice in the village of Tôtes.
One day, Charles visits a local farm to set the owner's broken leg and meets his patient's daughter, Emma Rouault.

Uncle Remus' stories feature a trickster hero called Br'er Rabbit ("Brother" Rabbit), who uses his wits to slide out of trouble and gain the advantage over the slower witted other animals, many of whom are trying to eat him. Br'er Rabbit stories were mostly collected directly from the afro-american oral story-telling tradition and are said to be a direct interpretation of Yoruba tales of Hare.

Would you still believe in God if aliens exist? A Christian family is faced with that difficult question when THEO, a typical nine-year-old homeschooler, watches an alien orb fall from space and land in a nearby forest.
My name is Elijah and I am a Christian author and I aim to write fiction in multiple categories that not only avoid evil concepts, but actively point my readers to King Jesus and His amazing works.
My wife and I homeschool our children and I wanted to write a book featuring homeschooler elements casually. You'll notice many novel Christian concepts are assumed in this book. That was also one of the goals of this book. I want the kids reading this book to not feel othered by being a homeschooling Christian. After all, there aren't many books with a main character in that demographic!
The main goal of this book, of course, is to address the growing concerns within the church about aliens. We are shown alien-filled Hollywood propaganda constantly and have been for several decades. Why? And why are UAP/UFO/ET sightings on the rise? Why is it that all the conservative podcasters are adamant that aliens are not only real, but have communicated with our world before? Are we seeing a return of Genesis 6-like events where demonic forces are deceiving people by the millions into disgusting practices and worship? Maybe. So why don't we talk to our kids about aliens, but from a proud and victorious Christian perspective? If aliens are real what does that mean about the existence of God?
Join me and my children in this dialogue by reading this new book... ORB: A Sci-Fi Story for Kids.
