ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK 
The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien tells the history of the First Age of the World, a time long before The Lord of the Rings. The book recounts the legends of a distant past, when Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, dominated Middle-earth, and the High Elves made war upon him to recover the Silmarils, three jewels of immense power and beauty.
