Beschreibung

The method of study of biblical Greek I propose here is very simple and practical, so that the student may be equipped with information and terminology that will let him benefit as quickly as possible of the original text of the New Testament.
The first chapter of 1 John will be our reference throughout the book.
The reasons why I chose John’s writings is that they have two wonderful characteristics that make them the perfect place to start. 1. John used about one thousand words only to write his first epistle! 2. His language is deep and full of theological treasures.

Giuseppe Guarino was born in Italy. He loves the Bible and has dedicated over twenty years to the study of its original languages. Among his books: The Majority Text of the Greek New Testament, Greek, The Original Language of the New Testament, The Jewish Background of the New Testament, The Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Bible.

Way to Inner Peace, published in 1954, explores eight different themes on the path to a life of contentment and serenity. The first theme, Inner Peace, teaches that by “recognizing our own littleness in comparison to what we ought to be,” we both recognize the Greatness of God and find more patience with the faults within ourselves and others. On the theme of Goodness, Archbishop Sheen tells us that we find that which we look for in our lives. When we overlook good in favor of scandal and misdeeds, we invite these evils into our hearts.Regarding Happiness, it is not simply a matter of creating joy, but of actively working to dispel sadness and melancholy. When we internalize the fact that “...we are loved by God,” then we can cast off the shadow and live in the light of God’s joy. The section on Virtue includes chapters regarding selflessness and the evils of insincerity, as well as a chapter on war. At a macro level, war may seem out of place in a section on the virtue of the individual. But when we zoom in to the micro level, we see that war is the symptom of the moral failures in each of us. Another key to inner peace is Learning. Being able to wonder at the world, to learn, and to know and improve ourselves—only through such humility can we reach wisdom. With Wisdom comes the knowledge of when to speak and when to be silent. It teaches us how to practice patience and helps us to avoid judging others. Those that would be wise must listen more and speak less. In the section titled You, Archbishop Sheen warns against the vices of hatred and judgment. Crowd out the evil thoughts with good, for “A mind filled with ideas of love and beauty has little room for evil notions.”Finally, there is Faith, where we find relief from our burdens and cares. When we have the humility to look inward, view our faults with an open eye, and beg God’s help and forgiveness, then we are at our best.

A major spiritual shift is occurring in this world, and more people are experiencing unexpected phenomena in their daily lives. We might notice unusual "signs" or have intuitive thoughts, randomly hear a song a past friend or relative loved or smell a perfume that triggers a strong memory. Most often these are tossed aside as coincidences and immediately forgotten. But what if there were no coincidences, and everything happened for a reason? What if we know much more than we think, but simply haven't learned to pay attention to what is really happening around us?
This book is for those who are experiencing this shift but are not sure of what they are feeling.

The setting of **1st and 2nd Maccabees** is about a century and a half after the conquest of Judea by the Greeks under Alexander the Great. These books recount how the Greek ruler Antiochus IV Epiphanes attempted to suppress the Jewish religion, sparking the Maccabean Revolt from 175 to 134 BCE.

Originally included in the King James Bible, **1st and 2nd Maccabees** offer a thrilling historical account of the guerrilla warfare in which, with God's help, the Maccabean brothers—Judas, Jonathan, and Simon—achieved extraordinary victories against vastly superior armies, ultimately restoring an independent Jewish kingdom and preserving their religious practices.

**The Third Book of Maccabees** is recognized as Deuterocanonical Scripture by the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches and is included in the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible. However, it is considered apocryphal by most other Christian traditions.

This book recounts the persecution of Jews under Pharaoh Ptolemy IV Philopater (222–205 BCE), whose plans to annihilate the Jewish people in Egypt are miraculously thwarted by God. These events occurred several decades before the Maccabean uprising in Judea, as chronicled in **1st and 2nd Maccabees**.

**The Fourth Book of Maccabees** is a philosophical and theological treatise that explores the supremacy of reason over passion, particularly in the context of Jewish faith and martyrdom. While not part of the Hebrew Bible, it is included in some versions of the Septuagint.

Unlike the earlier Maccabees books, which focus on historical events, this text emphasizes the strength of faith and the power of rational thought in overcoming emotional and physical suffering. It centers on the martyrdom of Eleazar, a Jewish scribe, and the seven Maccabean brothers, who were tortured and killed by King Antiochus IV for refusing to abandon their religious practices.

Most people want to live forever. They desire long, healthy, fulfilling lives. But God has a bigger, better plan, though it comes at a cost. There is a training process that we need to go through. More than that, a complete change of heart is needed – we must be born again. And to follow Christ, our will must be submitted to His will, and our lives must be filled with His Spirit. There is only one way to eternal life. The Apostle Peter signed up for a life like that. He left his career, his family, and whatever meager enjoyments he might have had to follow a humble, nondescript Teacher named Jesus. During those three years of training, Peter was taught by the Master. Some of those lessons were not easy at all; yet Peter was given grace in the eyes of the Lord, and when he fell, the Lord forgave him, strengthened him, and kept him to the end. What about you? Do you need courage, strengthening, and training? In this book, J. Wilbur Chapman admonishes, teaches, and encourages. Chapman's love for the Lord and for His people shines clearly in his messages. He expounds on Scripture, relates real-life stories, and tells us about the only way to be saved – and how we may experience the fullness of life in Christ.

This volume gathers the perspectives of teachers in higher education from all over the world on the topic of New Testament scholarship. The goal is to understand and describe the contexts and conditions under which New Testament research is carried out throughout the world. This endeavor should serve as a catalyst for new initiatives and the development of questions that determine the future directions of New Testament scholarship. At the same time, it is intended to raise awareness of the global dimensions of New Testament scholarship, especially in relation to its impact on socio-political debates.
The occasion for these reflections are not least the present questions that have been posed with the corona pandemic and have received a focus on the "system relevance" of churches, which is openly questioned by the media. The church and theology must face this challenge. Towards that end, it is important to gather impulses and suggestions for the discipline from a variety of contexts in which different dimensions of context-related New Testament research come to the fore.
