Synopsis

In "Commodore Junk," George Manville Fenn weaves a vivid tapestry of adventure and intrigue set against the backdrop of the South Seas. The novel's narrative brims with lively characters and exploits, rendered in Fenn's characteristic exuberant prose. Blending elements of nautical fiction with a touch of humor, Fenn crafts a tale that realistically portrays the perils of seafaring life while highlighting themes of bravery, friendship, and the folly of greed. The book reflects the Victorian fascination with exploration, colonialism, and maritime folklore, situating itself firmly within the literary tradition of adventure novels that celebrate both the spirit of adventure and the complexities of human nature. Fenn, a prolific British author, was deeply influenced by his own experiences in the maritime world and a profound appreciation for adventure literature. Having spent a significant part of his early life in the industrial north of England, Fenn's explorations into folklore and his extensive knowledge of the sea informed his narratives. His professional background as a writer, combined with personal experiences and an inherent love for storytelling, culminated in this captivating novel that showcases the adventures of its memorable characters. I highly recommend "Commodore Junk" to readers who appreciate rich storytelling interspersed with thrilling escapades and character-driven plots. Fenn's ability to intertwine laugh-out-loud moments with genuine tension makes this book not only an entertaining journey but also a relevant commentary on human tendencies. It stands as a worthy addition to the canon of adventure literature, promising to delight both young adult and mature readers alike.

My name is James Jackson and I enjoy spanking naughty girls of all ages. Ivy is my wonderful and very understanding wife who encourages me to spank whoever I want, as long as there's no intercourse. This is the fourth audiobook in my spanking autobiography. In the first, I was introduced to extramarital spanking by my wife and her friend Bridget, and in the second, I was lucky enough to spank Kate Anderson to help her change her attitude and awful behaviour. In the third, I spanked Evelyn and her naughty daughter Emma. In this audiobook, you will meet Nikki, a twenty-four-year-old who is looking for some parental guidance. My wife and I took on the roles of Aunty Ivy and Uncle James. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did. I would encourage you to listen to the first audiobooks in this series first, but you don’t have to if that's not your thing.

Herbert George Wells was born on September 21st, 1866 at Atlas House, 46 High Street, Bromley, Kent. He was the youngest of four siblings and his family affectionately knew him as ‘Bertie’.
The first few years of his childhood were spent fairly quietly, and Wells didn’t display much literary interest until, in 1874, he accidentally broke his leg and was left to recover in bed, largely entertained by the library books his father regularly brought him. Through these Wells found he could escape the boredom and misery of his bed and convalescence by exploring the new worlds he encountered in these books.
From these humble beginnings began a career that was, after several delays, to be seen as one of the most brilliant of modern English writers.
Able to write comfortably in a number of genres he was especially applauded for his science fiction works such as The Time Machine and War of the Worlds but his forays into the social conditions of the times, with classics such as Kipps, were almost as commercially successful. His short stories are miniature masterpieces many of which bring new and incredible ideas of science fiction to the edge of present day science fact. Wells also received four nominations for the Nobel Prize in Literature
Despite a strong and lasting second marriage his affairs with other women also brought the complications of fathering other children. His writings and work against fascism, as well as the promotion of socialism, brought him into increasing doubts with and opposition to religion. His writings on what the world could be in works, such as A Modern Utopia, are thought provoking as well as being plausible, especially when viewed from the distressing times they were written in.
His diabetic condition pushed him to create what is now the largest Diabetes charity in the United Kingdom. Wells even found the time to run twice for Parliament.
It was a long, distinguished and powerfully successful career by the time he died, aged 79, on August 13th, 1946.

Bold and deeply affecting, Awake in the Dark is a provocative and haunting work of fiction about who we are and how we are formed by history. These luminous stories portray the contemporary lives of the children of Holocaust victims and perpetrators as they struggle with the legacy of their parents--their questions of identity, family, and faith.
In "The House on Kronen-strasse," a woman returns to Germany to find her childhood home; in "The Porcelain Monkey," the shocking origins of an Orthodox Jewish woman's faith are revealed; in "The Lamp," the harrowing experiences of a young woman leave her with the perfect daughter and a strange light; and in "Dark Urgings of the Blood," a patient is convinced that she shares a disturbing history with her psychiatrist.
Rendered in powerful, unaffected prose, Awake in the Dark is an illuminating and startling book about the disguises we don, the secrets we keep, and the consequences of our silences.

There is something about the number 3.

The Ancient Greeks believed 3 was the perfect number, and in China 3 has always been a lucky number, and they know a thing or two.

Most religions also have 3 this and 3 that and, of course, in these more modern times, three’s a crowd may be too many, except when it’s a ménage à trois. It seems good things usually come in threes.

Whatever history and culture says WE think 3, a hat-trick of stories, is a great number to explore themes and literary avenues that classic authors were so adept at creating.

In the Spring of 2019 Michael Kingswood decided to embark on a Great Challenge, coordinating with a long-term professional writer that he considers a mentor and committing to sending him a new story every Sunday.
Lots of people attempt this kind of challenge. Even if they don’t do all fifty-two stories, it’s a victory because it almost always improves their writing productivity and skill.
    Michael crushed it.
In the year from April 2019 through April 2020 he wrote at least one story per week, sometimes more than one. In celebration of that victory, SSN Storytelling presents this collection of 52 stories – one for each week of the year.
If you enjoy adventure, action, mystery, and stories with a sense of wonder, you will love these stories. Pick up Stories From The Great Challenge now. You won’t regret it.
