Beschreibung

My action-packed adventure is on a roll! With Grida, Fresa, and Datil by my side, I’m sure we can overcome anything that comes our way! We’re actually trying to get Grida out of the storage card safely right now, and I think the World Tree might help provide some answers. Problem is...I have no idea where it could be!

Now, I’m out here curing the ill and redeeming thieves, but as soon as we hit the road, bandits strike our carriage! The only good news is that one of them let slip about a “mysterious large tree in the heart of a labyrinth.” Could that be what I think it is...? Hey, wait a second! Is our journey seriously gonna wrap up that quickly?!

Franklyn was born into a gritty north of England town. His expected path through life would have him live out his years in the manner of that town’s baseline existence. But it wasn’t to be.
Perhaps he was pre-selected to break rank so that bigger dreams could be fulfilled. Whatever the prime force may have been, he was to know a different life.
Perhaps, too, the corridors of our own reality are flimsier than we believe! On the other side of the wall may lie another path. As Franklyn himself discovers, a perceived reality can be as real as reality itself.

If you loved The Haunting of Hill House, welcome to Thistlecrook…
It’s 1923 and at Thistlecrook House, a forbidding home on the Scottish border, the roaring twenties seem not to have arrived. But Simon Christie has – a young man who can’t believe his luck when he gets a job cataloguing the infamous art collection of the Mordrake family. Yet from the moment he gets off the train at the deserted village station he can’t shift a headache and a sense that there’s more to the House and its gruesome selection of pictures.
Simon’s host is glad of his company, but he gets the feeling the house is not so welcoming. As his questions about the Mordrakes grow, he finds answers in surprising places. But someone is not pleased that old secrets are stirring.
As night falls each evening, and a growing sense of unease roils in the shifting shadows around him, Simon must decide what he can trust and ask if he can believe what he sees in the dusk or if his mind is poisoned by what has happened before in this place between lands, between light and dark.
In the historical and gothic setting of Thistlecrook House, Simon Christie finds himself entangled in a web of supernatural occurrences that challenge his sanity. The best of horror and thrillers, Mathew West's THE HOUSE OF FOOTSTEPS is a chilling exploration of the unseen and the unimaginable.
For fans of Margery Allingham (The Tiger in the Smoke), Jess Kidd (The Night Ship), Elizabeth Macneal (The Burial Plot), Rebecca Netley (The Black Feathers), and Susan Stokes-Chapman (Pandora).

Just when we thought we won...
    ...it all went wrong.
Our enemy is stronger, smarter, and more ruthless than we ever gave them credit for. It's a fight for our lives and our city, and they've made it clear that it doesn't end until only one of us is left standing.
I was born in Cinco City. I suffered in Cinco City. I fought, scraped, cried, and bled in Cinco City, and all the time, I did it alone.
    Not this time.
With Sunny, Liam, River, and Bane on my side, it's the Brotherhood who'll know what it is to have everything they wanted in the palm of their hands until it's all ripped away.
Stand aside, Cinco. There's a new queen ruling this city, and with my Savage Princes by my side, I'm unstoppable.
King of Cruelty is the final book in the Saint and Sinners saga.

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was born on 24th September 1896 in Saint Paul, Minnesota into an upper-middle class family. Whilst his mother was pregnant with him, his two young sisters tragically died. Fitzgerald once said this was when his destiny as a writer was ordained.
His intelligence and talent was recognised from an early age, with his first story, about a detective being published in the school magazine when he was just 13.
In 1913 he enrolled at Princeton but his devotion to his own literary pursuits resulted in him leaving and, rather bizarrely, joining the Army. In 1918, stationed at Fort Sheridan near Montgomery, Alabama he met and became infatuated and then inseparable from Zelda Sayre. Initially though she refused to marry him but with the success of ‘This Side of Paradise’, the fame and the flow of money enabled them both to begin a gilded life. For them this was The Jazz Age. For Fitzgerald he was already an alcoholic.
He continued to write with great mastery and the titles of his novels and many of his 164 short stories are household names. The Great Gatsby, often cited as The Great American Novel was published to mixed reviews. As America moved from the Great Depression to the slaughter of the Second World War his works and himself were seen as far too entwined with the decadent twenties. The world had moved on and he hadn’t.
Further tragedy was never far from his life. Zelda after years of erratic and now intolerable behaviour was committed to an institution in 1936. His own sales began to decline and he became a hack for hire in Hollywood, dependent on increasing amounts of booze and the weekly pay check. His drunken state had often resulted in arrest or hospitalisation, further imperiling his talents. Despite his contribution to many MGM films he received only one credit.
The end came all too soon for one of America’s greatest ever writers. On 21st December 1940, at only 44 years of age in Hollywood, F Scott Fitzgerald succumbed to a heart attack.
