Beschreibung

Mindset and Learning Challenges explores how adopting a growth mindset can revolutionize the learning experience for individuals facing learning disabilities. The book addresses the misconception that learning disabilities define a person's potential, instead positioning them as challenges to overcome. It emphasizes the power of believing that abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, leading to tangible improvements in learning outcomes and self-esteem.

For example, reframing a mistake from a sign of failure to an opportunity to learn encourages resilience and a proactive approach to education. The book presents evidence-based insights and practical strategies, drawing on research in psychology and education. It examines specific learning disabilities like dyslexia and ADHD, illustrating how a growth mindset can address the unique challenges each presents.

The book guides readers from understanding core concepts to applying them through case studies and research findings. Ultimately, it provides a framework for creating supportive learning environments that empower individuals with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.

The South China Sea stands today as one of the most sensitive crossroads of the international system – a vital artery for global trade, a strategic reservoir of energy resources, and a pivotal space where economic interests, military power, and international law intersect and collide.
Through the insights of diplomats, scholars, and experts from Italy and the Philippines, this volume examines the economic, political, and strategic dimensions of the maritime disputes in the Indo-Pacific, revealing how the stakes reach far beyond regional boundaries. From China's military modernisation to the risks facing energy security, from the central role of UNCLOS to the growing engagement of European actors such as Italy, the book offers a multidisciplinary exploration of one of the most critical theatres of the twenty-first century.
A central truth emerges: the future of the South China Sea will serve as a litmus test for the international order. Upholding freedom of navigation, supporting international law, and fostering cooperation and stability are not merely regional interests, but shared global responsibilities. An essential resource for scholars, diplomats, analysts, and readers seeking to understand how economics, geopolitics, and law converge at the heart of the Indo-Pacific – and how maritime tensions may shape the prosperity of the world.

As a member of the "New Thought" movement, Henry Harrison Brown (1840 - 1918) founded the periodical "NOW". In this magazine, he first published his most famous essay "Dollars want me!" Brown presented positive affirmations which inevitably attract money and financial independence. Easy, concise, to the point: Brown states that without man, money is nothing. Therefore, money seeks man to fulfill its duty. All man needs to do is to prepare mentally - and financial freedom will be the result. Extremely interesting and highly entertaining!

Frederick Douglass was an American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman. After escaping from slavery in Maryland, he became a national leader of the abolitionist movement in Massachusetts and New York, becoming famous for his oratory and incisive antislavery writings. Accordingly, he was described by abolitionists in his time as a living counterexample to slaveholders' arguments that slaves lacked the intellectual capacity to function as independent American citizens. Northerners at the time found it hard to believe that such a great orator had once been a slave. It was in response to this disbelief that Douglass wrote his first autobiography.

Following the Civil War, Douglass was an active campaigner for the rights of freed slaves . Douglass also actively supported women's suffrage, and he held several public offices. Without his permission, Douglass became the first African American nominated for vice president of the United States, as the running mate of Victoria Woodhull on the Equal Rights Party ticket.

Douglass believed in dialogue and in making alliances across racial and ideological divides, as well as in the liberal values of the U.S. Constitution. When radical abolitionists, under the motto "No Union with Slaveholders", criticized Douglass's willingness to engage in dialogue with slave owners, he replied: "I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong.

Thomas Troward was a divisional Judge in British-administered India. His avocation was the study of comparative religion. Influences on his thinking, as well as his later writing, included the teachings of Christ, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. After his retirement from the judiciary in 1896, Troward set out to apply logic and a judicial weighing of evidence in the study of matters of cause and effect. The philosopher William James characterized Troward’s Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science as "far and away the ablest statement of philosophy I have met, beautiful in its sustained clearness of thought and style, a really classic statement." According to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) archivist Nell Wing, early AA members were strongly encouraged to read Thomas Troward's Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science. In the opening of the 2006 film The Secret , introductory remarks credit Troward's philosophy with inspiring the movie and its production. (Summary by Wikipedia)
