As a student of the Knight Academy, Yuri Ho will be spending the next decade of his life in the royal capital. Eager to explore the streets of his new home, he soon finds himself in trouble when the kingdom’s first princess, Carol Flue Shaltl, follows him into the city slums and attracts the attention of a gang of kidnappers.

Unable to abandon her to her fate, Yuri will have to rely on his wits to save the princess—and himself—from harm at the hands of desperate criminals.

As they head into the deepest recesses of the city, the pair are about to discover a side of the kingdom that their privileged upbringings had shielded them from—a dark side that Carol, as the future queen, refuses to ignore.

Lil' Cub is a small Piper Cub airplane. In this first book, the story is all about the Mercy Flight. It's a sunny day, and Lil' Cub is flying over the neighborhood looking for someone to play with. Lil' Cub spots his friend Bently. Bently is a helicopter. Bently tells Lil' Cub that he has been sent by Mr. Dispatcher to find him, as there is a very important job for him to do. Lil' Cub finds Mr. Dispatcher at the door to the hangar. Mr. Dispatcher tells Lil' Cub he is perfect for the job that needs to be done because he is small. The job is delivering medical supplies to Doc Bowing on the high desert. Lil' Cub feels honored to have been asked to do this Mercy Flight and tells Mr. Dispatcher that he is more than willing to do the job. Lil' Cub sets off on his mission and, during the flight, encounters some bad weather and high winds. Lil' Cub talks to himself and says he must keep on going, for people are counting on him to deliver this medicine. With each new obstacle that confronts him, Lil' Cub tells himself (over and over) “I can make it! I can make it!” After a very long flight, Lil' Cub comes to the place where Doc Bowing is waiting. Doctor Bowing is very happy to see that Lil' Cub has made it safely and thanks Lil' Cub for completing the mission. When Lil' Cub returns home, his friend Bently is waiting for him, and Bently tells Lil' Cub that he is a hero! Lil' Cub replies that he feels very good because even though he is very small, he was able to help many people by delivering the much-needed medicine.

Born and raised in the small prairie town of Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Jane Smith had to be the most awkward girl around. She had reached an age when her parents were allowing her to experiment with make-up, and all the boys around her were becoming more attractive as each day passed. Especially Todd. He was her biggest secret crush. Unfortunately, Jane was too shy to do anything about it.
It did not help matters that all her friends now had boyfriends, but Jane still did not. It seemed to her that she was forever cursed to be single in this small prairie town where she was nothing more than an ugly duckling next to all the pretty and sociable girls.
When Jane was not following her friends around from the movie theatre to the hockey rink, learning the latest juicy gossip from them, and silently adoring her biggest crush, she was alone in her bedroom writing: letters to her Chinese penpal, diary entries, and the beginnings of a romance novel. She often dreamed about her first love and first kiss. Alas, this was a dream she feared would never come true, so she also wished for a new start and a whole new life for herself.
Little did Jane know that her creative hobbies were the very thing that would make these dreams come true. Little did she know she was capable of magic!

From the author of the Newbery Honor winner Roller Girl, a heartwarming graphic novel about starting middle school, surviving your embarrassing family, and life at the Renaissance Faire that's perfect for fans of Raina Telgemeier. Eleven-year-old Imogene (Impy) has grown up with two parents working at the Renaissance Faire, and she's eager to begin her own training as a squire. First, though, she'll need to prove her bravery. Luckily Impy has just the quest in mind-she'll go to public school after a life of being homeschooled! But it's not easy to act like a noble knight-in-training in middle school. Impy falls in with a group of girls who seem really nice.until they don't. For the first time, she's embarrassed of her thrift shop apparel, her family's unusual lifestyle, and their small, messy apartment. And when her new friends encourage her to do something mean, Impy goes along with it. Before long, Impy doesn't even recognize herself. Is she the dragon in her own story or the heroic knight? As she did in Roller Girl, Victoria Jamieson perfectly-and authentically-captures the bittersweetness of middle school life with humor, warmth, and understanding.
