Synopsis

'I'm not broken. I'm a unique spark of life. We all are.'
Jess has a great life: a job she loves, a sharp sense of humour and a close group of friends.
When austerity threatens the world she has worked hard to build, Jess makes a stand to protect those she holds most dear.
Capturing the humour, sadness and joy of everyday life, Francesca Martinez's play All of Us is a passionate and timely look at the human cost of abandoning those who struggle to fit in.
It premiered at the National Theatre, London, in August 2022, in a production directed by Ian Rickson, with an ensemble cast featuring Francesca Martinez in the role of Jess. It was shortlisted for the 2022 George Devine Award.

Even as he grew up on the edge of Lewis, the vastness of Russia never felt too distant for Donald S Murray. Its great literary traditions were often discussed in his home village, while the political unrest and religious fervour that marked its past and present were occassionally reflected in his life on the island. Inspired by the Russian canon, the songs, verse and stories contained within these pages draw upon the experiences of his youth, shifting continually between myth and history, the absurd and moving, the satirical and everyday. Its extraordinary and diverse narratives underline the truth of its opening line: 'I can see these islands mirror Russia.'

The language of Poetry is an art that most of us attempt at some point in our lives. Although its commonplace exposure has been somewhat marginalised in today’s often fast-paced lives we all recognise good verse that can empathise with our thoughts or open us up to experience new things in new ways, to better understand and to enjoy the many strands of our lives.
But finding a starting point can be overwhelming, even off-putting, so in this series we offer up our Top 10 classic poets, who brim with talent and verse, on a range of subjects and themes that we can all enjoy.
From the point of view of the Western World, deep and eternal knowledge of mankind’s beginnings, its spirit, its reason to simply be was always waiting to be discovered and sampled in the far-off lands of the Mystic East. These 10 Poets and their verse demonstrate just why that is.

For much of history women have been seen rather than heard. Their thoughts, their views have lain too long in the shadows of our culture. Whilst this traditional view has some merit it is not entirely accurate.
Here, gathered together in these volumes, we can, through their words, experience their lives; we can hear their voices, their thoughts, joys, loves and losses.
For the Female Poet there was always the confining hand of men to instruct that their time was perhaps spent more productively elsewhere. These lines, these gilded verses often protest otherwise.
The contribution of women in these earlier centuries is immense and in this series we bring together poets who have created some of the most beautiful and expressive verses ever written. And remember these words, these telling lines, have been written against the grain of society's male bias. With their remembered words these female poets have given us a history that we can all now share.
This volume comes to you from Portable Poetry, a specialized imprint from Deadtree Publishing. Our range is large and growing and covers single poets, themes, and many compilations.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Asphyxia is a hauntingly lyrical novel that unfolds like a cinematic screenplay in parenthetical time and conditional mood. Told through the voice of Nefeli—a young woman observing her life on a mental screen—this work blurs the boundaries between memory, myth, narration, and madness. Set in a literary universe where authors are tyrants, muses are merciless, and reality is often just a rumour, the story follows Nefeli’s metaphysical descent into guilt, obsession, and poetic hallucination.
Through the echo of voices—narrators, poets, and ghosts—the book explores the invisible lives of the mentally fragile, those who vanish quietly between diagnoses and metaphors. With a cast of characters both archetypal and painfully human, Asphyxia is not a love story, nor a murder mystery, though it flirts with both. It is a philosophical narrative about stories themselves: who writes them, who performs them, and who suffers them.
Written by Tomazo Pagonis and originally crafted in Greek, this audiobook has been translated into rich British English by Marilu Pagoni. It is recommended for lovers of experimental fiction, metafictional narrative, and those who sense their own lives unfolding in parentheses.
