Synopsis

"The Secret Garden" is a children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, first published as a book in 1911. The story revolves around Mary Lennox, a neglected and unloved 10-year-old girl who is sent to live in the manor of her reclusive uncle in England after her parents die from cholera in India. Mary discovers a locked, neglected garden on the property and sets about restoring it with the help of the maid's brother, Dickon, and her sickly cousin, Colin. As the garden comes back to life, so do the children. The book delves into themes of healing, friendship, and the magic of nature.
