This book is all about mass disappearances which have occurred in history.
These events run the gamut from entire villages whose inhabitants disappeared to a flight of military planes gone missing in the Bermuda Triangle.
Many ships have disappeared so I only cover a few of the most notorious ones.
I also do not usually cover missing families or where just several people have gone absent.
It is much more interesting to me if an entire army became lost and missing or strange things happened to a group which has become a big mystery.
There are also some recent missing persons mysteries since these events happen even in the modern age.

Edward Estlin Cummings (October 14, 1894 - September 3, 1962), commonly known as e e cummings, was an American poet, painter, essayist, author, and playwright. During World War I, he worked as an ambulance driver and was imprisoned in an internment camp, which provided the basis for his 1922 novel The Enormous Room. The following year he published his first collection of poetry. Cummings wrote approximately 2,900 poems and is often regarded as one of the most important American poets of the 20th century. He is associated with modernist free-form poetry, and much of his work uses idiosyncratic syntax and lower-case spellings for poetic expression. In the following recordings, Cummings reads his poems "somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond" (1931), "next to of course god america i" (1926), "anyone lived in a pretty how town" (1940), "Buffalo Bill's (1920), "in Just–" (1920), i carry your heart with me(i carry it in)" (1952). The final audio clip is from a 1955 Cummings speech, "A Poet's Advice to Students."

This book contains several titles, which are the following:
Genghis Khan - Genghis Khan was the Mongol emperor who has expanded his region to the biggest empire on the face of the earth ever. His empire stretched from East Asia all the way to various European countries, the Middle East, and beyond.
What made Genghis Khan so successful?
Was he a brute, rapist, and pillaging dictator, or did he have a tolerant side as well?
You will learn more about his early life, his relationships, marriage, families and children, his attacks, his unification of the Mongolian Federations, his death, succession, and the continuing of the Mongolian Empire after his death.
Mongolian Empire - The Mongolian Empire was not to be trifled with! Genghis Khan and his followers conquered a vast part of Asia, Europe, and beyond. There aren’t many people who haven’t heard of these conquerors and their achievement. Honor them or despise them, but at least acknowledge their existence.
How did the Mongol Empire grow so big?
What was it like before the expansion?
These questions and many others will be answered in this historical guide. Their dominance, their attitude, and their culture will be explained, as well as their practices of war and various other parts of their society.
Attila the Hun - You may have heard about him: Attila the Hun. Let's discover who this individual actually was and why he has such a bad track record of being a callous, aggressive conqueror in the first millennium after Christ. Attila the Hun was the ruler of the Huns from the year 434 till his death in the month of March in the year 453. Also, he was the leader of a tribal realm which consisted mainly of Huns, Ostrogoths, Alans and Bulgars, to name a few, in Central Europe and in Eastern Europe.

The classical era of Japan was defined by a rich interplay of art, power, and evolving traditions, spanning the Nara, Heian, and Kamakura periods. The Nara Period saw the establishment of Japan’s first permanent capital, heavily influenced by Chinese culture, with Buddhism gaining prominence and shaping religious and artistic developments.
The Heian Period marked the height of imperial court culture, where poetry, literature, and refined aesthetics flourished under the rule of aristocratic families like the Fujiwara. It was also during this time that the kana writing system emerged, giving rise to literary masterpieces such as The Tale of Genji. As courtly elegance gave way to the rise of the samurai, the Kamakura Shogunate ushered in a new era of warrior rule, led by the Minamoto clan.
The establishment of a military government transformed Japan’s political landscape, laying the groundwork for feudal society while facing external threats like the Mongol invasions. These three periods together shaped Japan’s cultural and political identity, leaving an enduring legacy that continues to influence the nation today.
