Sinopse

"Uncle's Dream" is a novel written by Fyodor Dostoevsky, first published in 1859. In this work, Dostoevsky explores themes of social aspiration, idealism, and the clash between romantic dreams and harsh reality.

The story revolves around the character of Alexey Ivanovitch, a young dreamer who is captivated by the romantic idealism of his uncle, the wealthy and eccentric General K. Alexey becomes entangled in his uncle's grandiose schemes to elevate their social status and achieve recognition in high society. However, as the plot unfolds, Alexey begins to confront the harsh realities of human nature and the futility of his uncle's dreams.

Through vivid characterization and sharp social commentary, Dostoevsky delves into the complexities of human ambition and the pursuit of happiness. "Uncle's Dream" offers a satirical critique of the social climbers and pretentious elites of 19th-century Russia, while also exploring deeper philosophical questions about the nature of truth, morality, and the meaning of life.

As with many of Dostoevsky's works, "Uncle's Dream" combines elements of psychological insight, moral inquiry, and dark humor to create a thought-provoking and engaging narrative that continues to resonate with readers today.

Based on an actual psychedelic trip, The Big Wow is about an American psychonaut who plunges into the psychedelic realm of DMT and has the trippindicular experience of a lifetime!
If you've never heard of DMT or Dimethyltryptamine, it's an intense mind-altering drug that causes powerful hallucinations and sometimes near-death illusions. DMT does occur naturally in many species of plants and animals including humans. It's a key ingredient in ayahuasca, a psychoactive brew used by shamans in the Amazon to gain spiritual insight.
The jury is still out on what exactly DMT does in our bodies. Some speculate it plays a role in REM sleep, while others are convinced it's there to ease our pain when we die. Whatever the case, it definitely alters human consciousness.
The Big Wow isn't a scientific study, it's a total psychedelic journey.
    Reviewer Feedback
—That's one hell of a trip indeed.
—This is GOLD if you ask me! It's very well written and takes the reader along on the trip.
—I enjoyed every word, I have only ever experimented with plants, but these realizations are the deepest and bestest and most important knowledge of the whole universe!
—I feel like I took this trip with you man, sounds pretty amazing.
—Wow! That was well done! It was like you brought us on your trip with you. Great use of imagery and words!
—Oh my god, this whole story was a psychedelic trip. I can hardly imagine how much time and effort you spend for this masterpiece, a 1000 thumbs up.
—Giving you a big thumb's up...I too have experienced the heavenly language you speak of and life really isn't the same afterwards.
—Wow! that was an amazing trip! I tried DMT in Guatemala 2 years ago and I can also say it's not something you should take for fun. It's a tool to connect this reality with other realities.

When Lenore Warwick turned twenty-one, she expected lots of bar-hopping, parties with friends, and the occasional hookup. What she got was the realization that she's both a witch and a vampire, and that there are things in this world that want her dead. Thank god she has her enigmatic vampire lover, Absolon Stavig, to help show her the ropes. But while Lenore struggles to fit into her new topsy turvy world, full of blood, sex, and magic, she also has to contend with her messy and complicated love for a vampire who isn't always what he seems.

To make matters worse, her real father, Jeremias, a powerful warlock from the dark side, has professed an interest in her, while Solon's father, the depraved vampire king Skarde, is intent on destroying everything she loves. When Solon and Lenore have to travel to Finland to work alongside Solon's charming and vicious brother, Kaleid, in an attempt to defeat Skarde once and for all, the two of them enter a bloody new world that neither of them are prepared for. Even if their love survives the carnage to come, the chances of them getting out of there alive are slim.

Good thing they like to take their chances.

    Contains mature themes.
