ABOUT THE FILM
"Interstellar" is a 2014 science fiction film directed by Christopher Nolan. Set in a dystopian future where Earth faces ecological collapse, it follows Joseph Cooper, a former NASA pilot turned farmer, who is recruited for a mission to find a new habitable planet for humanity. Cooper and his team travel through a wormhole near Saturn, encountering distant planets, black holes, and time dilation. The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, and survival, blending scientific theories with deep emotional drama. It examines humanity's resilience in the face of extinction and the potential of space exploration to secure the future.

TRIVIA SAMPLES:

“TARS, the robot in the film, was not created using CGI but was a practical puppet controlled and voiced on set by Bill Irwin, who was digitally erased from the footage. Irwin also operated CASE, though Josh Stewart’s voice was dubbed over his.”

“Anne Hathaway faced hypothermia while filming the scenes set in Iceland, as her astronaut suit was open during the cold water sequences.”

“Dr. Kip Thorne famously won a scientific bet against Stephen Hawking on a point related to astrophysics, which led to Hawking subscribing to Penthouse Magazine for a year. This bet was dramatized in the film "The Theory of Everything" (2014).”

“The placement of the wormhole near Saturn was a reference to "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968), as Stanley Kubrick had initially planned to have part of his film set near Saturn before abandoning it due to visual effects limitations at the time.”
