Synopsis

Encouraged by the testimonies of David Lynch – myth that overturned and revolutionised my adolescence and didn’t cease accompanying me in the following ages – I started practicing Transcendental Meditation in October 2022. Just before beginning the training course, I remember I was excited, confident, but I really would have never expected that, from the very first days, my life would take new directions, that the path I had entered wouldn’t have given me easy chances to come back to the previous routine. And, I must say, much to my relief. What you are about to read is therefore strongly imbued with the energy, but also with the doubts and the fears, of this fresh, still extraordinary experience which I like to define as “my promising second time” (moreover, being now 46 years old, I can assert that in every meaning!).

The life and career of a Poet is often thought of as musing at a desk, or lying in a meadow, or on long journeys to find inspiration for their next masterwork. But more often than not a poet was a part-time profession in subservient submission to their actual, salary-paying job.
In this volume we bring together those professionals whose skills are based on using words to achieve the ambitions, policies, desires and sleights of hand of their Governments and institutions. This calculated logic and scheming enhances both diplomacy and their poetry.

Eddie and Alan is a novel that follows two men who reflect on the end of their three-year relationship. They come from different walks of life; Eddie is a black queer man, and Alan is a cis white, mostly straight man. They were introduced to each other at work and quickly connected. Eddie and Alan’s friendship morphed into something more intimate, coming to a head during their four-day beach vacation. At its heart, this story seeks to shed light on the complexities of relationships between men, the fluidity of sexuality, and what happens when the lines are blurred.

In this volume we bring together those whose craft is the drafting of words into stories and plays that others read or watch. Of course, in Centuries past poetry was often interwoven into plays and yet, in the pens of these talents, their verse can not only stand alone and complete but rise to its own Art and the demanding tests of time.

We are the Weather is a mature and coherent first collection by a distinctive and compelling writer. The poems present vivid and often pungent scenes of rural life in exuberant and hardworking language, with childhood and family relationships at their heart.
