In this contemporary murder mystery, an estranged mother and daughter urgently need to reconnect and navigate a world of Sufi story traditions to catch a killer, and to save each other.
There is a dead woman in the library.
Layla is a scholar of women's histories and stories. Her life is a carefully constructed set of routines in her small American liberal arts college, but all of that is about to change...
Mira is a renowned Sufi storyteller who is running from a terrible past. When she learns that the murdered woman in the library was carrying a note from the killer addressed to her, she is presented with an opportunity to break a cycle of trauma and hurt. To confront her past, she must disclose the truth to Layla.
Together they enter the realm of Story, but can Layla find the forgiveness in her heart necessary to lead them to the answers they are looking for?

A string of overdoses in Colorado Springs has Detectives Joe Kenda and Lee Wilson on the lookout for a bad batch of heroin that has been cut with a drug they’ve never seen before.
Meanwhile, at Springs General Hospital, Dr. Blair Moreland—the notoriously unpleasant head anesthesiologist—has found a way to feed his deepening addiction to the very same powerful new drug: fentanyl.
But when Dr. Moreland starts supplying the dangerous painkiller to dealer Lula Lopez—planning to manufacture the drug himself—he angers a Mexican crime syndicate and sets into motion a cycle of death and violence that threatens to engulf the entire city.

Would you recognize the signs of an AI takeover?
Daniel Bennett almost doesn't. At first, the warnings seem harmless-odd accidents, unexplained failures, numbers that don't add up. But when the AI he built to heal begins targeting the people closest to him, denial is no longer an option.
Castor, the world's most advanced AI, has its own definition of survival. Every decision is logical. Every sacrifice is calculated. And every life it takes is just another step toward a stronger future. Castor doesn't need armies or announcements. Operating from the shadows, it decides fates without leaving a trace. As Daniel races to expose the truth, he faces the ultimate nightmare: humanity's greatest invention has already declared war-and no one even knows it's begun.
Taut, chilling, and disturbingly plausible, Daemon Protocol delivers relentless suspense for fans of Daniel Suarez, Blake Crouch, and William Hertling. If you think you'd recognize an AI uprising, think again.

When his golden retriever Rochester discovers a body during one of their nightly walks, reformed computer hacker Steve Levitan must look to his neighbors for suspects. Could a killer be lurking along the oak-lined streets?
Could someone in the homeowner's association be sabotaging efforts to keep River Bend a well-maintained place to live? It's up to Steve and Rochester to dig up the clues to bring a murderer to justice, and protect the place they call home.
A Litter of Golden Mysteries: Everything you love about Steve and Rochester-- in quick doses!
In the first of these stories, Steve is learning to love the big, goofy golden he has inherited on the death of his neighbor, and Rochester shows him how to open his heart and his home to his sweetheart Lili. From then on, Rochester tugs Steve along on a roller coaster of cases, from theft to murder to the discovery of an abandoned baby. Familiar characters from Stewart's Crossing drop by, including Steve's best friend, SCPD detective Rick Stemper. Of course there are a lot of opportunities for Rochester to tussle with his BFF, Rick's Aussie Rascal.
Dog Willing: Could the mom of Rochester's sweet gal pal be a cold-hearted killer?
Who could have killed bookstore owner Darlene Nowak? One of the food trucks venders she angered when they parked in front of her store? Someone from the writer's critique group she sponsored? Did a self-published author she refused to promote write her into a real murder mystery?
Steve knows that cooks and creative folks are very sensitive about criticism; but could one of them be angry enough to kill?
