'Cozy and thrilling!' ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NetGalley reviewer
One new owner. One hot barista. And one seriously weird coffee shop…
Adele is down on her luck. She’s just failed her last musical theatre, and it now looks like the bright lights of Broadway are behind her for good. So, when the opportunity comes up to take over a Brooklyn coffee shop, finally it feels like at last things are going her way.
The only issue is the coffee shop comes with strings attached in the form of one very grumpy (but roasting hot) barista, Ben. He’s worked there for years and he’s not about to move on just because there’s a new owner in town.
But soon it’s not only Ben who’s smouldering, because strange things are happening with the old coffee roasting machine in the basement, with roaring flames and weird noises that seem to come from nowhere. She’d ask Ben for help, but he never seems to be around when there’s a problem to fix. And to add to it all, now some of the regular customers are nowhere to be seen…
Trouble is brewing for Adele and, before she knows it, she’s in a whole latte trouble…
Readers are loving this coffee shop:
‘What a fun, if slightly terrifying, five-star read’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NetGalley reviewer
‘Read this book for a rest and a laugh’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NetGalley reviewer
‘Heartwarming, cozy and thrilling. I was captivated from start to finish and absolutely adored this enchanting, fun-filled adventure.’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ NetGalley reviewer
Adele's journey from a failed Broadway star to the owner of a top-rated coffee shop takes a supernatural turn. As she grapples with the paranormal occurrences and the occult realism that now define her business, she realises that this mystery is far from fiction.
For fans of C. M. Waggoner (The Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry), Hannah Nicole Maehrer (Assistant to the Villain), Jenna Levine (My Vampire Plus-One), and Delemhach (The Burning Witch 2).

G K Chesterton (29 May 1874 – 14 June 1936) was a poet, novelist, playwright, literary commentator, editor, biographer, journalist, orator and theologian. He was often dubbed as the “prince of paradox” for his light whimsical style that often addressed serious issues such as politics and religion. The latter was as a member and defender of the Christian faith and the former was shaped by a distrust of concentrated wealth and power. He advocated Distributionism and said that every man should be allowed to own "three acres and a cow." These political views have spread round the world, crediting Chesterton as the father of the “small is beautiful” movement. It is also said to have influenced Gandhi in seeking a genuine nationalism for India rather than imitating the British state.
Chesterton was remarkably prolific but perhaps his most famous creation is Father Brown. Within this character Chesterton’s clever writing and profound ideas reveal truths, often with humour as the detective priest pursues the answers to his cases.
