Beschreibung

In "Among the Trees Again," Evaleen Stein crafts a vivid tapestry of nature and human emotion, exploring the intricate connections between the two. With a lyrical style that intertwines descriptive imagery and introspective prose, Stein invites readers into a woodland realm that serves as both sanctuary and mirror for the soul. This work resonates with the themes of renewal and nostalgia, echoing the burgeoning literary movements of the early 20th century which celebrate the spiritual and restorative power of nature in an increasingly industrialized world. Evaleen Stein, an esteemed poet and author, was deeply influenced by her surroundings and the natural landscape of her youth, imbuing her writing with a rich sense of place. Her personal experiences, including the solace she found in nature during turbulent times, lend authenticity and depth to the narrative. Stein's background as a prominent figure in American literature and her commitment to showcasing the beauty of the natural world inform her artistic vision, making her work a poignant reflection of her time as well as a timeless invitation to reconnect with nature. I highly recommend "Among the Trees Again" for readers who seek an immersive experience that harmonizes lyrical beauty with philosophical contemplation. Stein'Äôs deft storytelling not only enchants but also provokes thought regarding our relationship with the environment. This book is an essential addition for those passionate about literature that celebrates the natural world.

Strictly speaking The Lake Poets were not a movement or school of poetry they were only so named as such by The Edinburgh Review so that they could be disparaged.
    It was a spectacular backfire!
The three main figures would be rightly seen as among the most monumental figures in English poetry - William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge and the under rated but immense Robert Southey, himself a thirty year poet laureate.
The profound majesty of the Lake District, an area of almost unequalled beauty, of mythical landscapes and beguiling charm influenced and acted as muse to their burgeoning talents.
Their creations have ennobled this poetry as an art form that is intense, lyrical, moving and above all deliciously satisfying.

Alfred Lichtenstein was born on the 23rd August 1889, in Berlin-Wilmersdorf, the son of a Jewish manufacturer. He grew up in Berlin before studying law at Erlangen in Bavaria.

A writer in the Expressionist style his poems and stories are short but beautifully honed works. His tragically curtailed life allowed only a small part of his talents to rest with us. Undoubtedly a full life would have given the world a very gifted literary force.

Alfred Lichenstein volunteered for duty in the German Army for World War I. He died on the front at the Somme in the early months of combat on the 25th September 1914. He was 25.
