Synopsis

Mind Endurance explores the pivotal role of mental strength in athletic success, arguing that it's as crucial as physical prowess. Drawing from sports psychology, cognitive science, and neuroscience, the book provides a comprehensive understanding of mental processes impacting performance. It highlights how elite athletes leverage visualization, focus, and resilience to overcome limitations, noting that mental fortitude isn't innate but a skill developed through mental training. Interestingly, managing stress and maintaining concentration are key differentiators between champions and others, demonstrating the power of mental training.

It begins by introducing core concepts, then unfolds in sections focused on visualization, attention/concentration, and resilience. Readers will learn techniques for minimizing distractions, coping with setbacks, and enhancing focus under pressure. Professional golfer Andrew "Beef" Johnston has played in the world's biggest tournament, won big-money events, and sunk monster putts while fans were booming out his nickname: "BEEEEEEF!" On the downside, Beef has also duffed it, thinned it, and shanked it like every single person who's ever played the game. Because no matter who you are, golf can make you look like an idiot.

Golf is Hard reflects on Beef's early years at his local Pitch & Putt to his stellar career playing against the best on the greatest courses on the planet, taking you inside the world of professional golf like no book before. With painfully honest stories, Beef delves into the pressure of the profession, but also shares golfing advice and side-splitting behind-the-scenes insights to bring a new perspective to the game. What is Tiger Woods really like in the locker room? How did it feel to hit one of the worst shots in golf history in front of millions of viewers during the British Open? And just how many clubs has Beef broken through fits of rage and frustration during his illustrious career?

This is a book for everyone who has ever loved and loathed the game in equal measure but managed to see the funny side. After all, golf is really hard, so you might as well have a laugh about it along the way.

I recently saw several predictions by well-known seers of the future that there will be a huge natural disaster in June/July of 2025.
Whether a disaster from a comet crashing into the Earth, a huge volcanic eruption or earthquake or a nuclear war; the likelihood of humanity suffering a period of global cooling is that it will happen—and has already happened in the past.
Disasters could actually cause global cooling for months or years. In trying to lookup any books on how to individuals and society should handle global cooling I couldn’t find anything. So I decided to write a manual dealing with this issue.
    This manual has five parts:
    Part One-Understanding the Threat
    Part Two-Preparation and Prevention
    Part Three-Surviving the Freeze
    Part Four-Rebuilding in the ICE
    Part Five-Looking Forward
Historical examples of how mankind dealt with global cooling in the past are included as well as lots of advice on how to recognize this process happening to our world, and how to deal with the consequences.
Survival for both individuals and society, and how to plan for the future.
I hope this situation never happens in our lifetimes but this book might be an aid to survival in those circumstances.

While hunting, the boy Anchises stumbles upon Venus's forest retreat and is so kindly entertained by the goddess that he becomes the proud father of Aeneas, the hero of Vergil's Aeneid. The poem is an epyllion like Marlowe's "Hero and Leander" and Shakespeare's "Venus and Adonis," a short erotic poem with a mythological subject. The style is Spenserian, the stanzas rhyming ababbccc. When Brittain's Ida was published in 1628, the publisher ascribed it to Edmund Spenser. However, in 1926 Ethel Seaton discovered and published Fletcher's original manuscript, whose opening stanzas make clear that this is the work of Fletcher, who entitled it "Venus and Anchises." - Summary by T. After the trauma, Benjamin ends up in the hospital with a futuristic probe inserted between the hemispheres of his brain-a probe implanted by Dr. Huang. Benjamin can earn more shots to his handicap for each hole, but there is a deadly catch: if he lies, he instantly dies by electrocution from Dr. Huang's probe. A deadly match that Benjamin comes to realize is happening inside his mind. Dr. Huang monitors Benjamin's every thought; if he even thinks about lying or misleading the sister of fate, he dies. A brilliant, funny and insightful analysis of Paul Gascoigne’s crazy up and downs during his three years at Lazio – a period which shows his entire career in microcosm.
    4th July, 1990.
    Turin, Italy
England are on the brink of reaching their first World Cup final in 24 years. Twenty-three-year old Paul Gascoigne has been one of the breakout stars of the tournament. His athleticism, speed of thought and incredible natural gifts have given England fans renewed faith in their perennially underachieving national side.
Then in the 99th minute of a tense semi-final against Germany, Gascoigne lunges into a mistimed tackle. The ref awards him his second yellow card of the tournament, meaning that if England were to win, he would miss the final. Gascoigne turns away, tries to hold it together, but can’t. Floods of tears run down his face. We understand. We feel his pain and anguish. The legend of Gazza is born.
Two years later, after an injury-stricken season at Spurs, he arrives at Lazio for a then record transfer fee. Expectations are sky high; he is welcomed as a footballing Messiah by the Roman fans. But all is not what it seems. There are doubts over his fitness, doubts over how he will adjust to life in Italy, doubts over whether his obvious potential can finally be achieved. The three subsequent years in Italy, shot through with incredible highs and self-inflicted lows, show Gascoigne in all his complexity – an immense natural talent flawed by a too-fragile personality.
In Gazza in Italy, award-winning writer Daniel Storey brilliantly shines a light on an unexamined moment in Gascoigne’s career that encapsulates everything that we have come to associate with this most mercurial of talents: childish joy, public gaffes, wondrous skill and saddening self-destruction. Funny and harrowing in equal measure, this book allows us a better, more rounded understanding of one of our greatest sporting idols, and of a tragically misunderstood human being.
This best-selling sports biography is a recreation of Gazza's career, offering a unique insight into his life. It's a top-rated autobiography that delves into the history of one of football's most iconic figures.
For fans of Jonathan Grade (Golazzo), Richard Whitehead (Victory in Australia), Jonathan Wilson (The Names Heard Long Ago), Kevin Pogorzelski (Divided Cities), and Wayne Barton (Manchester United After Munich).
