Synopsis

In "Pigs is Pigs," Ellis Parker Butler crafts a delightful satire that delves into the absurdities of bureaucratic processes through the lens of an amusing rural tale. The story unfolds with the interaction between a rural train station agent and a farmer, who insists that his new livestock, pigs, should be treated as their intended kind—"pigs." Butler's humorous narrative style merges whimsical dialogue with astute observations on human nature and societal norms, positioning the tale within the context of early 20th-century America, when industrialization was rapidly changing rural life. The text serves not only as entertainment but also as commentary on the often ridiculous obstacles individuals encounter within institutional systems. Born in 1869 in upstate New York, Ellis Parker Butler was an influential American author whose literary career was fueled by his sharp wit and keen sense of irony. Butler's experience in both the rural and urban landscapes of America provided him with a unique perspective on the everyday challenges of life. His knack for capturing the essence of human folly made him a favorite among readers seeking humor mixed with a touch of social critique, influencing his motivation behind "Pigs is Pigs." "Pigs is Pigs" is a must-read for anyone who appreciates clever satire and the interplay between man and bureaucracy. Butler's engaging approach to storytelling not only entertains but prompts readers to reflect on the absurdities embedded in the everyday experience. This timeless tale invites readers to laugh while encouraging them to examine the deeper implications of societal conventions.

‘They say that ignorance of the law is no defence. So thank goodness for Monty’s book. I had no idea I was running so many risks in terms of how I have been leading my life! Lots of fun to be had here.’ - Sir. Peter Wanless, CB – Chief Executive, NSPCC
Have you ever heard a bizarre law and thought, that can’t possibly be true? Is it genuine? Was it ever in existence or just an urban myth that became so embellished over time? There are surprisingly, a great many laws still in existence on the statute books today, that would make your jaw drop. Whilst bizarre as these laws may now seem to us, it begs the question, are we in fact, unknowingly breaking these laws on a regular basis?
For example…Is it illegal to own a pet whale but not a tiger? Is it illegal to cause a nuclear explosion? Were mince pies once illegal? Was Dr. Frankenstein ever real? Why was cricket against the law?Why does The King hold an MP prisoner?
…all these questions and more will be answered in this latest book by Monty Lord.
This book is a highly entertaining read for anyone who enjoys reading about the more bizarre applications of UK law throughout the centuries along with some rather macabre consequences along the way.

Derek Vernon is just trying to relax and enjoy a pleasant day at the beach, along with his wife Juliet and his parents. And, given how smokin’ hot Juliet looks in her bikini, it promises to be a very pleasant day, indeed!

Until his sweetie comes running out of the water in a panic. Something has gotten onto that fantastic body of hers—something that stings and itches badly.

Not to worry. Derek’s dad works in the medical field. He’ll handle everything.

Not that this man is a doctor or anything close. He’s merely an x-ray technician. Still, he’s the best they have at the moment. But what Derek’s dad lacks in medical qualifications, he more than makes up for in sheer gall. He actually orders the shaking young woman to lie down on the beach blanket, where he proceeds to remove her swimsuit and examine her very carefully.

Carefully, thoroughly, and very intimately—right there on a public beach with dozens of gawking bystanders. And Juliet is perhaps the last person on Earth to endure such humiliation. In fact, she has frustrated her husband to no end for years with her over-the-top body modesty and inhibited sexuality.

So, although Derek should feel sorry for the ordeal his wife is being put through, all he feels is major arousal…and, strangely, from the jealousy he feels seeing his dad being granted more viewing and feeling rights than he ever had!

And this jealousy is made even worse when a young lifeguard comes over and checks Juliet over just as intimately—explaining that she has a case of sea lice, which he treats by dabbing her with medicine very nearly everywhere.

By now, Derek is seething in envy and arousal. Thank God his shaken wife just wants to go home because this hugely horny hubby has big plans for her—plans that will not only satisfy his envy-tinged arousal but teach her a thing or two about the joys of giving her husband what he’s always wanted—and more!
