Synopsis

When grief pushes Lilly to leave her small Michigan town, all she has is a cryptic note, an old locket, and a one-way ticket to Wakefield, Maryland, the town her mother once called home. But Wakefield is no ordinary place. Here, the air hums with ancient energy, shadows whisper secrets, and time itself feels… different. 
Strange pains in her wrists awaken when danger draws near. A boy who’s not quite mortal seems bound to her path. And everywhere she turns, there are echoes of a world behind this one, a world of angels, demons, and something called a Half Life.
