No Shield From The Dead by Gordon R. Dickson - No conceivable force could penetrate Terri's shield. Yet he was defenseless.
It was a nice little party, but a bit obvious. Terri Mac saw through it before he had taken half a dozen steps into the apartment. A light flush staining his high cheek-bones. "This is ridiculous," he said.
The light chatter ceased. Cocktail glasses were set down on various handy tables and ledges; and all faces in the room turned toward a man in his late fifties who sat propped up invalid-wise on pillows in a chair in a corner of the room.
"The Comptroller is perspicacious," said the old man, agreeably, waving one hand in a casual manner. "On your way, children."
And the people present smiled and nodded. Quite as if it were an ordinary leave-taking, they pushed past Terri Mac and filed out the door. Even the blonde, Terri had picked up at the embassy ball and who had brought him here, strolled off casually, but in a decidedly less drunken fashion than she had exhibited earlier in the evening.
"Sit down," said the old man. Terri Mac did so, gazing searchingly at the skinny frame and white eyebrows in an unsuccessful effort to connect him with something in memory. "This is ridiculous," he repeated.

An Obsession. A Red Dress. A Mystery That Unravels the Mind.
From his window, he watches her every day. The beautiful woman in the red dress. Always the same red dress. Always leaving at exactly 8:00, only to return moments later, repeating the routine like a haunting ritual.
For three years, her strange behavior has consumed his thoughts, drawing him deeper into an obsession he can’t explain. Why does she keep returning? Why does she wear the same red dress every day?
His curiosity turns to desperation, and in a moment of reckless curiosity, he sends his drone into her apartment. What he sees shatters his reality. A room too perfect, too symmetrical—almost inhuman. A row of identical red dresses hanging in unnerving precision. An immaculate apartment where nothing is out of place, yet everything feels wrong.
Then his drone crashes. And his life changes forever.
As his paranoia grows, so does the mystery. Who is the woman beyond his window? Why does her world feel like an illusion? And who is truly watching whom?
The Woman Beyond My Window is a psychological thriller that explores the thin line between obsession and madness, perception and reality. A haunting tale that will leave you questioning everything, including your own reflection.
Perfect for fans of psychological suspense and mind-bending mysteries.

The final book in a young middle grade mystery-adventure series about Horace, an anxious Boston Terrier, and Bunwinkle, an exuberant potbellied pig, who team up to solve crimes in their barnyard and neighborhood.
In this third mystery, the pet-tective duo must solve a series of crimes at the local Renaissance Faire. Perfect for fans of Mercy Watson, The Trouble with Chickens, and A Boy Called Bat!
Life is never quiet at the Homestead. First, it was disappearing animals, then a power-hungry dairy queen. Now it’s a Renaissance Faire, a noisy, stinky spectacle that drives Horace to distraction. Bunwinkle, on the other hand, can’t get enough of the festivities—she loves the thrilling jousts, the court intrigue…and especially the pickles on a stick.
But when Eleanor and Clary’s ice cream buckets are stolen and several of the food stalls are vandalized, it’s clear that there’s something fishy going on at the faire. And suddenly the pet-tectives find themselves with a new case on their hands.
One thing’s for certain: There’s no shortage of suspects. From Wendell, the nosy vegetable vendor, to Dean, the alpaca farmer who’s been getting a bit too close to Eleanor, to Uta Hawken, a Shakespeare-spouting red-tailed hawk, the culprit could be anyone.
Can the pet-tectives solve this royally tough case before the faire is ruined…or worse?
