A 7-time Teen Choice Award Winner on Freeform's most-watched series, Pretty Little Liars … A social media influencer with over 7 million followers … An avid birdwatcher? Yes, you read that correctly. Ian Harding is all of these things, and so much more. In this memoir, explore the unexpected world of a young celebrity through the lens of his favorite pastime — birding.

Odd Birds is more than just a Hollywood memoir or tell-all. At its heart, this book is a coming-of-age story in which Ian wrestles with an ever evolving question— how can he still be himself, while also being a celebrity. Each humorous and heartfelt story features a particular bird—sometimes literal, at other times figurative. Using this framework, Ian explores a variety of topics, including growing up, life as a television actor and nature lover, and whether it is better to shave or wax one’s chest for an on-screen love scene.

A funny and heartwarming window into Ian’s life, Odd Birds is a must-read for fans of nature writing and memoir alike.

    Introduction to Power System...

Power system protection systems have three basic components: Instrument transformers, Relays, Circuit breakers

The function of the CT is to reproduce in its secondary winding a current I' that is proportional to the primary current I. The CT converts primary currents in the kiloamp range to secondary currents in the 0–5 ampere range for convenience of measurement.

The function of the relay is to discriminate between normal operation and fault conditions. The OC relay in Figure 2 has an operating coil, which is connected to the CT secondary winding, and a set of contacts. When |I'| exceeds a specified ''pickup'' value, the operating coil causes the normally open contacts to close. When the relay contacts close, the trip coil of the circuit breaker is energized, which then causes the circuit breaker to open.

System-protection components have the following design criteria:
    • Reliability: Operate dependably when fault conditions occur, even after remaining idle for months or years. Failure to do so may result in costly damages.
    • Selectivity: Avoid unnecessary, false trips.
    • Speed: Operate rapidly to minimize fault duration and equipment damage. Any intentional time delays should be precise.
    • Economy: Provide maximum protection at minimum cost.
    • Simplicity: Minimize protection equipment and circuitry.

Since it is impossible to satisfy all these criteria simultaneously, compromises must be made in system protection.

The book consists from the following sections:
    1. Chapter 1: Power System Faults:
    2. Chapter 2: Instrument Transformers.
    3. Chapter 3: Overcurrent and Earth Fault Protection Relays.
    4. Chapter 4: Radial System Protection.
    5. Chapter 5: Zones of Protection.
    6. Chapter 6: Differential Relays.
    7. Chapter 7: Distance Relays.
    8. Chapter 8: Transformer Protection.
    9. Chapter 9: Generator Protection.
    10. Chapter 10: Busbar Protection.
    11. Chapter 11: Circuit Breakers.
    12. Chapter 12: Fuses.
    13. Chapter 13: References.

“An excellent reference not only for patients but also for nurses, medical assistants, and clerical staff who work in a busy gynecologist’s office.” —Wanda Ronner, MD, Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System Hysterectomy is the second most common major surgical procedure performed on women in the United States. For some women, the decision to have a hysterectomy is an easy one; for others, it is a difficult choice associated with concerns about risks, discomfort, and female identity. In this thoroughly updated edition of Hysterectomy: Exploring Your Options, gynecologists Edward E. Wallach, Esther Eisenberg, Isabel Green, and Stacey A. Scheib describe and explain every aspect of the procedure, including: Symptoms of gynecological disorders that may require uterine fibroid removal or hysterectomyThe full range of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging techniques, including MRI-focused ultrasoundThorough explanations of specific alternative measures that may be used to avoid the need for hysterectomyThe various techniques for hysterectomy, including single-incision surgery and robotic hysterectomyHow to prepare for surgery and what to expect while in the hospitalDetails on the surgery and postoperative recovery, including information about pain medications, when to resume daily activities, how sexual function may be affected, future reproductive possibilities, and the benefits and risks of hormone replacement therapyIncluded in this compassionate, comprehensive guide to treatment and recovery for women having—or deciding whether to have—a hysterectomy are stories of women whose own experiences with hysterectomy offer useful advice for anyone considering the procedure.  “A valuable reference.” —The New York Times

From Gardens Where We Feel Secure is gardener and writer Susanna Grant's exploration of her thinking on history, value and meaning of nature in the city. Examining the premise that naming species allows us to expand our understanding, our interest, our ways of looking at the world around us, and the idea of plant-blindness—our tendency not to see what we can't name in the nature that surrounds us—she throws a spotlight on five of her favourite wildflowers with accompanying images by photographer Rowan Spray. These stories are interspersed with reflections on Grant's own countryside childhood and her work in London's community gardens: why we can't walk where we want to, planting as an act of resistance and, above all, the necessity of weeds and their beauty.
