Sinopsis

In present-day İzmir, a team of archaeologists unearth what they believe to be an ancient cultic chamber. Hidden beneath the earth, they find a sarcophagus engraved with grapevines and riddles in dead languages. What they do not realize—until it is too late—is that they have awakened Dionysos, the ancient Greek god of wine, madness, and ecstasy. Freed from his slumber, Dionysos brings with him a supernatural wave of chaos, a delirium that begins to spread through modern society like an invisible infection.

My only remaining marriage prospects were the head gardener, the vicar, and the steward. But how could I marry any of them when I was in love . . . with Lord Brookhaven?

Charlotte Robbins accepts a governess position for the Earl of Brookhaven's siblings despite rumors of the earl's severe and mysterious demeanor. As a lowly governess, Charlotte entertains thoughts of possible romance with an eligible servant until she does fall unexpectedly in love--with the pensive earl himself.

Now thrust into London high society, Charlotte grapples with suitors vying for her attention, but her heart still belongs to the Earl of Brookhaven. Mary hears on the radio that the British warship her husband is on has sunk, leaving few survivors. Waiting for daybreak to bring news, Mary escapes into memories of her past. Sincere and engaging - a ‘hot-water bottle’ novel - Mariana by Monica Dickens is full of sharply remembered detail: childhood holidays, the heartbreak of first love, making friends, growing up.
At eleven, Mary Shannon is sprightly and observant. She adores leaving London to spend holidays with her family at Charbury House in Somerset. Playing with her cousins means time with Denys, who she loves best of all. When she joins a secondary school, Mary knows no one, but salvation comes in the form of Angela Shaw, and together they move on to acting college. The ups of studying with Angela are outnumbered by the downs, so Mary drops out after various humiliating run-ins with a cruel teacher. Next Mary moves to Paris, learns to design dresses, and is swept off her feet by the immensely wealthy Pierre. But will this be enough for her?Mariana is part of the Persephone Audiobook Collection, a series of forgotten classics including neglected fiction and non-fiction by women writers. First published in 1940, this edition includes a preface by Harriet Lane and is narrated by Sophie Roberts.

Inspired by Kailee Pedersen's own journey being adopted from Nanning, China in 1996 and growing up on a farm in Nebraska, this rich and atmospheric supernatural horror debut explores an ancient Chinese mythology. The last thing Nick Morrow expected to receive was an invitation from his father to return home. When he left rural Nebraska behind, he believed he was leaving everything there, including his abusive father, Carlyle, and the farm that loomed so large in memory, forever. But neither Nick nor his brother Joshua, disowned for marrying Emilia, a woman of Asian descent, can ignore such summons from their father, who hopes for a deathbed reconciliation. Predictably, Joshua and Carlyle quickly warm to each other while Nick and Emilia are left to their own devices. Nick puts the time to good use and his flirtation with Emilia quickly blooms into romance. Though not long after the affair turns intimate, Nick begins to suspect that Emilia’s interest in him may have sinister, and possibly even ancient, motivations.Punctuated by scenes from Nick’s adolescent years, when memories of a queer awakening and a shadowy presence stalking the farm altered the trajectory of his life forever, Sacrificial Animals explores the violent legacy of inherited trauma and the total collapse of a family in its wake.A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin’s Press.

Meanwhile, Angelina's first patient is an unpredictable woman named Lucy who reveals a particular magic of her own, as does her billboard-painting son John Milton. As Angelina and Will’s life together becomes increasingly tense and their days apart become increasingly comfortable, it looks like Will may be the one to get the empty house.
