Synopsis

In the fourth book in David P. Warren's Scott Winslow Legal Mysteries Series, attorney Scott Winslow and investigator Lee Henry tackle a high-stakes case in the brokerage industry. A secretive coalition of elite brokers has devised a clever way to trade on insider information without leaving a trace.

When Broker Assistant Kathy Jenkins overhears a suspicious conversation between her boss and an unknown person, she's thrust into a dangerous situation, leading to her wrongful termination. Hiring Scott Winslow, Kathy aims to expose the wrongdoing, while Lee Henry's unconventional investigation uncovers a network of seasoned brokers dealing in non-public information without a paper trail.

As Scott builds the case against Jessica and her brokerage house, Lee works on taking down the clandestine association responsible for the illegal trading. But danger looms as members of the association start turning up dead, and the remaining brokers live in fear, desperately seeking a way out.

In this gripping tale of mystery and suspense, the lines between right and wrong blur as unexpected twists unfold. With lives on the line and fear gripping the association, Scott and Lee must navigate a treacherous path to bring the culprits to justice before more lives are lost.

Alex slips off her headphones and savors the sensation of stillness in silence while the crowd dances on at Oslo’s hot new silent disco. She is conducting her dream field research on sound and attention when a handsome stranger beckons to her from across the dance floor. Hoping for a little warmth in Norway’s cold climate, she follows him -- going from anthropology PhD student to murder suspect. With the Norwegian police and a killer closing in, Alex is stranded in a country where every puzzle piece is slightly out of place. While dyslexia makes reading Norwegian difficult, it also gifts her an uncanny ability to read people. Soon she is channeling Ms. Marple as much as Margaret Meade, as she re-places puzzle pieces and navigates the sharp edges of the frosty Fjord in an attempt to free herself and return home.

An engaging supernatural mystery novel about family secrets, the price of vengeance, and learning to move on after loss. -- Clarion Reviews
Eerie, surprising, and profoundly emotional, The House on Tyner by Matthew O'Connell is a beautifully written ghost story with the structure of a mystery. A powerfully written ghost story that manages to be appealingly realistic, while also questioning the boundaries of the tangible world. Giving a poetic side to the enigmatic and haunted, the novel is unique in the paranormal genre. ★★★★½ -- Self-Publishing Review
5 out of 5 stars. I found nothing to dislike about this novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this mystery novel. My eyes were glued to the pages by the end of the book. The author included many plot twists and turns to keep readers engaged throughout the novel. As someone who often shies away from ghost stories due to cheesiness, I wholeheartedly recommend this book, as it is a decidedly realistic portrayal of the paranormal. -- OnlineBookClub

"Elizabeth Searle's WE GOT HIM is an ingeniously plotted, suspenseful novel written in blood, mother's milk, and the unintended consequence of rage. It is the story of one family's inherited flaws, harbored guilts, and obsessive desires, whether for a child, a parent, or a second chance to do the elusive right thing. Powerfully worked against the unfolding events of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, Elizabeth Searle's taut drama of a young, pregnant stepmother and her troubled stepson is a narrative tour de force, interweaving public and private acts of terror with the redemptive, but ever–fragile, forces of love." —Melissa Pritchard

The graceful domes of Sacré Coeur, the imposing cathedral of Notre Dame, the breathtaking Tour Eiffel . . . Paris is overflowing with stunning architecture. Yet for Tabitha Knight, the humble building that houses the Cordon Bleu cooking school, where her friend Julia studies, is just as notable. Tabitha is always happy to sample Julia's latest creation and try to recreate dishes for her Grand-père and Oncle Rafe.

The legendary school also holds open demonstrations, where the public can see its master chefs at work. It's a treat for any aspiring cook—until one of the chefs pours himself a glass of wine from a rare vintage bottle—and promptly drops dead in front of Julia, Tabitha, and other assembled guests. It's the first in a frightening string of poisonings that turns grimly personal when cyanide-laced wine is sent to someone very close to Tabitha.

What kind of killer chooses such a means of murder, and why? Tabitha and Julia hope to find answers in order to save innocent lives—not to mention a few exquisite vintages—even as their investigation takes them through some of the darkest corners of France's wartime past . . .
