Synopsis

Cecil, son of Anna and Dr. Albert Morgan, was raised in a well-to-do neighborhood in the 1930s. Always feeling different -- separate -- from everyone around him, after college, he relocates to an Appalachian Mountain cabin.
Lonely at first, Cecil spends a great deal of time talking to himself. One night, he hears a song on a breeze with a long note held for fourteen beats. As far as Cecil knows, he is alone on that side of the desolate mountain, so who is singing? 
He eventually meets up with the mysterious mountain man without a name, a man who also lives separated from the world. Was his seclusion a choice? When illness occurs, will the aid Cecil brings during a time when doctors treat mental illness like a crime and homosexuality as a mental illness make things better or worse?

The whole situation seems suspicious and scary, but the pay is good and Javi does find the situation a little hot. Is it worth the money? Or will Javi need to flee before he is seduced to the vampire's will?

On the run, he finds a safe haven at Bernard's farm. He leaves when Bernard learns who he truly is, but only after Bernard suggests he find a powerful wizard to break the binding of his magic.
Soon after, Rouland meets Jarvis, a farmer's son who asks if he may join him in his travels. Rouland agrees and the pair begins to bond. He lets Jarvis know about his thieving skills, but not the truth of who he is -- until forced to in order to explain why he's searching for a wizard. Jarvis accepts it with no reservations as by then they have become more than merely friends.
The question becomes, can Rouland find a wizard willing to help him? If so, will Rouland be able to stop his uncle Sewal's coronation as the new king and take his rightful place as heir to the throne?
