Unlike neurology, which primarily deals with structural disorders of the nervous system, psychiatry examines functional disturbances affecting thought, emotion, and behavior. While psychology also explores mental health, psychiatrists, as medical doctors, are uniquely qualified to prescribe medications and provide medical treatments alongside therapy.
