Synopsis
Anita inherited the specialty shop from her mother, who had gotten it from her mother. It's a family business, though not the kind that people are used to when they hear about something that's inherited across generations. Instead of office supplies, sporting goods, antique books or anything of the sort, they sell items specifically used in the bedroom. And no, she's not talking about mattresses or bedframes. They have a narrow variety, but deep assortment of merchandise in their category. She has been put in sole charge of the business for a year and she does a good job until something terrible happens. The eatery across her store closes down and in it's place now stands a book shop. It's not a regular bookshop either. No, this bookshop is owned by a man who wants to ruin her. He starts by putting children's book at the display and inviting the author for a reading and signing. So, her getting a sexy 'specialty' doll and displaying it outside of her store probably wasn't the most diplomatic way of handling things, but he takes it one step further by organizing a bouncy castle fun fair and inviting half the town to enjoy it. Two can play this game. It would be obvious to adults exactly what it is despite how respectfully she's dressed the doll up, if only from context of the rest of the things offered in her shop, but she hopes that Amon has fun explaining to the more innocent visitors of his shop what a sexy nurse with lace stockings is doing, standing outside the creepy-looking building. Maybe he can get away with telling them it's just a mannequin. She snorts into her coffee at the thought. What she doesn't expect are the calls. Not angry calls from locals that she's braced herself for. On the first day the sex doll is up, she has multiple messages and calls asking her how much it would cost to purchase the doll. She puts a price tag on the doll. Four thousand dollars, delivery not included because she needs to lock up the door to make the delivery. "You have to wait a few days for me to get the order in. More customization means more time," she explains to Jack, a regular who's been coming in for as long as she can remember. He has a very happy wife and several children who knows nothing about the kinky sex life their parents have. "Can't I take the one outside?" he gestures out the door. "Dolly's not for sale," she says with a crooked grin when she sees Mrs. Orland talking to Amon on the other side of the street. He's glaring in their general direction and if looks could kill, they would all have been vaporized by now. The woman is talking with large gesturing motions, bringing attention to the impressionable, innocent eyes of her two sons, who are eighteen and nineteen respectfully and makes several purchases from her store ever since she's deemed them old enough to step foot in here. They would totally attempt to purchase the doll if they didn't live with their mother.
