Synopsis

A free short story from The imPerfect Cathar. 
'There’s an irony about how often the elements are used to kill those supposedly capable of controlling them. Water. Fire. Air. Earth. 
  
Drowning. Burning. Hanging. Burying them alive. 
  
Those so keen to use such tools to instil terror and keep the population silent best hope they never capture a true Talented...' 
  
This short story finds Paul Bonhomme, at the start of the 16th Century, discovering brutal goings-on in his home city of Toulouse after time away. When a local businessman is using the cruel threats of the inquisition to have his way with a hapless population, particularly its women-folk, the imPerfect Cathar himself is happy to teach him a lesson.
