Beschreibung

In recent years, the popularity of microservice architecture has surged, bringing forth a new set of requirements. Among these, efficient communication between the different services takes center stage, and that's where gRPC shines. This book will take you through creating gRPC servers and clients in an efficient, secure, and scalable way. However, communication is just one aspect of microservices, so this book goes beyond that to show you how to deploy your application on Kubernetes and configure other tools that are needed for making your application more resilient. With these tools at your disposal, you’ll be ready to get started with using gRPC in a microservice architecture. In gRPC Go for Professionals, you'll explore core concepts such as message transmission and the role of Protobuf in serialization and deserialization. Through a step-by-step implementation of a TODO list API, you’ll see the different features of gRPC in action. You’ll then learn different approaches for testing your services and debugging your API endpoints. Finally, you’ll get to grips with deploying the application services via Docker images and Kubernetes.

Lainie Chait was diagnosed with epilepsy in 1991 at the age of 19. At the time of diagnosis, there were three roads to go down - avoidance, acceptance or rebellion. Avoidance was her first choice. Falling in the shower, brain jerks and muscle twitches when she was 14 was the beginning of something 'not quite right' about her early teenage years. She hid these symptoms from family and friends for three years in the hope that they were just ‘growing pains’.As she started reaching the age of independence (18 in Australia) and started to drink, stay up late and go out partying, these ‘growing pains’ turned into a seizure condition that could no longer be ignored. Eventually doctors, diagnoses and medicines were brought into the equation. She tried acceptance but at the time it wasn’t the right fit, as the very thought of taming down her young, fun life and replace it with medicine, early nights and mature personal decisions was just too hard to fathom. Rebellion then became her main focus and she achieved this by partying, staying up late and ignoring the triggers. This mindset carried with it an enormous amount of embarrassment and shame. She constantly felt like a failure after each of the 250+ Grand Mal seizures she endured over 25 years. But she wasn’t just rebelling against a diagnosis; she was rebelling against a system that has the capacity to make you feel better but at a price that also keeps you in a place of perpetual illness. She needed to know why she had epilepsy and the only way she was going to find this out was to take herself off all the meds and research it, live it, feel it, document and manage it for herself. She did this much to the horror of her doctors, friends and family. She went on a journey to get to know her brain and what makes it tick and glitch. The journey was about finding out just how much control she did and didn’t have over her seizures.Electro Girl is Lainie Chait's story of resilience, growth and self advocacy.

    DESCRIPTION
Building trust with your business stakeholders starts with providing them with accurate, up-to-date information. This book shows you how to create a unified enterprise architecture repository, a central database for all your diagrams, catalogs, and other artifacts. Information supporting stakeholders' decisions may be delivered through a single artifact or a combination of multiple artifacts.
This book systematically covers the entire process, starting with a crash course in Sparx EA and mastering the principles of Model Driven Generation (MDG) to build a custom metamodel. You will then learn how to structure your repository and model key architectural artifacts, including business capabilities, projects, applications, data integrations, and technology environments like the cloud. The book also provides detailed guidance on modeling business services, organizational structures, and strategies. Finally, you will discover crucial repository management processes and learn to publish your artifacts as professional documents or web content for wider consumption.
By the end of this book, you will be fully competent in using Sparx EA to build, manage, and publish a professional-grade EA repository. This expertise will enable you to effectively analyze, communicate, and drive strategic change within your organization, making you a vital asset in any enterprise architecture team.

Rising to accept a prestigious award, Jody Lulich wondered what to say. Describe how caring for helpless, voiceless animals in his own shame and pain provided a lifeline, a chance to heal himself as well? Lulich tells his story in In the Company of Grace, a memoir about finding courage in compassion and strength in healing—and power in finally confronting the darkness of his youth.

Lulich's white father and Black mother met at a civil rights rally, but love was no defense against their personal demons. His mother's suicide and his sometimes brutal father's subsequent withdrawal set Lulich on a course from the South Side of Chicago to the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama to an endowed chair at the University of Minnesota. Though shadowed by troubling secrets, his memoir also features scenes of surprising light and promise. Most consequentially, at Tuskegee Lulich rents a room in the home of a seventy-five-year-old Black woman named Grace, whose wholehearted adoption of him—and her own stories of the Jim Crow era—finally gives him a sense of belonging and possibility.

Completing his book amid the furor over George Floyd's murder, Lulich reflects on all the ways that race has shaped his life. In the Company of Grace is a moving testament to the power of compassion in the face of seemingly overwhelming circumstances.
