  Poetry Ireland Introductions / Céadlínte 2025 offers poets in the early stages of their careers the opportunity to showcase their work through workshops, an e-publication and performance. This year's poets were selected by adjudicators Jessica Traynor and Aifric Mac Aodha in partnership with Poetry Ireland, the national poetry organisation. For the anthology, each poet has provided a pair of poems and a short, personal prose piece exploring topics from shifting childhood memory to ADHD, and other transformative reflections, establishing a dynamic collection of work.

This was the Weekly Poetry project for April 14th, 2013.Helen Coale Crew was an American poet and novelist. Her touching evocation of forgetfulness comes from the Chicago Anthology, published in 1916. Lethe refers to the first river that souls bound for the Elysian Fields, the Heaven of the ancient Greeks, had to cross. Drinking from the river was said to have the effect of expunging all memories.

  Eric has a miserable childhood in a violent, drunken family in a tough London housing estate. He compensates by looking for perfection. In January 2010, she was elected to the board of chancellors of the Academy of American Poets.
