"Falling in love usually happens when you least expect it. But love isn't the only thing that happens without warning."
Lexi saw him for the first time in the fourth-floor pediatric cancer clinic. He was tall, handsome, and had a full head of dark hair-nothing like the little kids she was used to meeting during her routine hospital visits. No, Ricky was wholly unexpected. He stared at her, mesmerized by her stunning blue eyes. She looked at him carefully, wondering what his motivation for hanging out in a cancer clinic could be. He smiled confidently, unbothered by her bald scalp. Lexi softly returned the smile. Neither of them aware how this moment would entwine them forever.
In a beautiful and heartwarming true story, author Emily Gould weaves the narrative of her daughter's incredible life. The story of Lexi and Ricky begins with a chance meeting but grows into a perfect tale of real teenage romance, the good and the ugly of cancer treatments, and the inspiring power of love overcoming all odds.

“We're all just walking each other home.”

“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.”

“We're fascinated by the words--but where we meet is in the silence behind them.”

“It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.”
    ― Ram Dass

Dr. Richard Alpert, a former Harvard professor and Timothy Leary cohort, was an icon of the hippie, LSD-fueled revolution of the 1960s. Thereafter, on a trip to India - like Clark Kent changing into Superman - he became the much-beloved spiritual teacher Baba Ram Das. His 1970s' iconic book Be Here Now turned on a generation to the deep, non-sectarian spirituality within us all.

Author Sripad Jagannatha Dasa became friends with Ram Das in the early '70s and traveled across America, playing Indian drums at his speaking engagements. During that time, the two discussed the publication of some of his lectures, but nothing was ever done, and the two lost touch. Now, finally, after all these years, Jagannatha Dasa keeps his promise to his old friend, publishing this original audio history of one of our most inspired and cherished spiritual teachers.

We love God. We love our country. What does it look like to love each properly and well?National tensions are at a record high. People on all points in the political spectrum care deeply about their country, although they differ wildly in their opinions about what it looks like to serve that country well. As Christians, we love God and seek to follow him. At the same time, nothing shapes us and tugs at our loyalties quite like the place we live. And of course we are regularly encouraged to pledge our allegiance to our country―or particular understandings of it. Who wins when the priorities of God and our country clash? In Kingdom and Country, a collection of leading Christian thinkers and practitioners take a holistic approach to considering the questions of patriotism, nationalism, and where our ultimate loyalties must like. Contributors include Alejandro Mandes, Juliet Liu, Ryan Tafilowski, Derek Vreeland, Rod Wilson, Michelle Reyes, Amanda Smith, Karen Wilk, Sean Palmer, and Tina BoeschKingdom and Country is the second in a series of Kingdom Conversations, books that bring together trusted Christian voices to address some of the most urgent and perplexing challenges of our time in timeless and redemptive ways.

Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, also known as Srila Prabhupāda, was a prominent spiritual leader and revivalist of the Gaudīya Vaisnava tradition in early 20th-century India. He was born Bimala Prasad Datt on 6 February 1874 in the town of Jagannath Puri, in the present-day state of Odisha, India. As a child, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati showed great intellectual potential, and he received a thorough education in Sanskrit, philosophy, and theology from his father, a renowned scholar, and Vaishnava monk. After completing his studies, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati became a professor of Sanskrit and philosophy at Calcutta University.

In 1918, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati founded the Gaudiya Math, a religious institution aimed at reviving and promoting the teachings of the Gaudīya Vaisnava tradition. He also initiated a series of reforms within the tradition, emphasizing the importance of scriptural study, the necessity of devotional service to Krishna, and the rejection of sectarianism and caste-based discrimination. Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati was a prolific writer and scholar who authored numerous books and articles on Vaisnava philosophy and theology. He also trained many disciples, including A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who later founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and became a major figure in the spread of the Hare Krishna movement in the West. Sarasvati passed away on 1 January 1937, but his legacy continues to inspire and guide followers of the Gaudīya Vaisnava tradition. He is remembered for his tireless efforts to revive and promote the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the founder of the Gaudīya Vaisnava tradition, and for his commitment to spreading the message of devotional service and love of God.

The Nile River was the lifeblood of ancient Egypt, shaping its civilization, economy, and culture. Flowing over 4,000 miles from the heart of Africa to the Mediterranean Sea, the river provided a reliable source of water in an otherwise arid landscape. Without the Nile, Egypt as we know it would not have existed.
Each year, the river’s annual flooding deposited nutrient-rich silt onto the surrounding land, creating fertile soil ideal for agriculture. This natural cycle allowed the Egyptians to grow crops such as wheat, barley, and flax, sustaining a thriving population. The predictability of the flooding led to the development of an agricultural calendar, which played a crucial role in the organization of society. Farmers planted their crops after the waters receded and harvested them before the next flood, ensuring a steady food supply.
Beyond agriculture, the Nile was also Egypt’s main highway. With deserts on either side of the river, travel by land was difficult, but the Nile provided an efficient means of transportation. Boats carried goods, people, and even large stone blocks for temple and pyramid construction. Trade flourished as the Egyptians exchanged gold, papyrus, and linen for exotic products from neighboring regions, including spices from the east and cedarwood from Lebanon.
