Beschreibung

Capitalist Nigger is an explosive and jarring indictment of the black race. The book asserts that the Negroid race, as naturally endowed as any other, is culpably a non-productive race, a consumer race that depends on other communities for its culture, its language, its feeding and its clothing. Despite enormous natural resources, blacks are economic slaves because they lack the 'devil-may-care' attitude and the 'killer instinct' of the Caucasian, as well as the spider web mentality of the Asian. A Capitalist Nigger must embody ruthlessness in pursuit of excellence in his drive towards achieving the goal of becoming an economic warrior. In putting forward the idea of the Capitalist Nigger, Chika Onyeani charts a road to success whereby black economic warriors employ the 'Spider Web Doctrine' – discipline, self-reliance, ruthlessness – to escape from their victim mentality. Born in Nigeria, Chika Onyeani is a journalist, editor and former diplomat.

How do executives make decisions? Are their decisions conscious or unconscious? Can they explain each decision they make? What tools can they use to improve their decision-making process? These are some of the questions this book addresses.During the past thirty-five years, as an entrepreneur and senior executive of several medium-sized Canadian hi-tech businesses, the author noticed that his decision-making processes were often based either on experience or on advice received from colleagues. Seldom were the decisions based on formal or informal academic-based methods. There is no substitute for years of experience in any human endeavor. However, tapping into some of the methods and lessons learned from personal experience can result in useful principles for others to follow. These principles are very useful, especially for entrepreneurs interested in building their businesses or executives looking for some additional help in acquiring a better decision-making mousetrap.

The book that started a movement!
Part of the highly acclaimed Love-Based Business series that has been featured on numerous media outlets including Forbes, CBS and NPR.
Do you hate the way sales and marketing copy makes you feel? Sales-y? Inauthentic? Hype-y? Just plain icky? You're not alone ... and there's a reason you feel that way. It's because traditional sales and marketing copy (also known as direct response copy) sells by tapping into fear.
But you don't have to use fear – you can sell and market your business using love instead. And when you do that, you stop manipulating and twisting arms to get buyers, and instead start attracting, inspiring and inviting your ideal clients into your business.
Ahhh -- doesn't that sound wonderful?
In this book, love-based copywriting and marketing expert Michele PW (Pariza Wacek) teaches you the philosophy and the foundational principles behind selling with love versus fear – the same proven principles she's used to help her clients sell nearly $50 Million worth of products and services. Plus, she includes dozens of exercises so you too can easily implement love-based copy in your own business.
Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or business owner or just starting out, you'll discover valuable tips and strategies around selling and marketing with love. And not only will you feel great about it, so will your ideal clients.

Suburbs - A Very Short Introduction

We live in the suburban era. Well over half of all Americans and two-thirds of Canadians live in suburbs. Tracts of suburban bungalows ring Sydney and Melbourne. Suburban apartments rise on the outskirts of Paris, Prague, Singapore, and Beijing. Nearly everyone has a strong opinion about suburbs. Folks who love dense cities scorn "suburbia," while people who like big yards dislike bustling sidewalks and subways. Social scientists argue whether suburbs are losing their luster or if a supposed back-to-the-city trend is a mirage—a debate that has been exacerbated by uncertainty over the effects of COVID-19.This Very Short Introduction tackles two central questions: What is the history behind a suburbanizing world? What does the suburban trend mean for society, politics, and culture? Two chapters describe the ways that the new technologies of streetcars, trains, automobiles, and internet have allowed the compact cities of Britain and the United States to grow into sprawling metropolitan regions. The following chapters explore the vertical suburbs of Europe and East Asia, improvised or do-it-yourself suburbs in both North America and Latin America, and suburbs as places of employment. The book concludes by exploring criticism and praise of suburbs in popular sociology, fiction, film, and the Americanization of twenty-first-century suburbs around the globe.
