  In the early 70s a drugged-out seventeen-year-old named Doug, along with his secretly gay, openly black, best friend, decides to hitchhike across the country in search of a mythical Utopia. They meet Bologna Jane & Tina the Monkey Girl, Big Arm and Nigga Dog. They almost die along the way. Doug hooks up with his brother and friends on converted school bus. They harvest huge bags of really weak marijuana, thanks to a couple of Redneck Hippies, and try to sell it. Along the way, Doug winds up getting his ribs and heart broken.  
  Sick of hitchhiking and hunger, Doug decides it is time to get rich. He gets sucked into the inside world of the famous Glenn W. Turner and his get-rich-quick scheme: Koscot Interplanetary, Incorporated. Doug cuts his hair, buys a suite and tie, and along with a bunch of Disney World rejects, spends his days trying to convince strangers to give him a $5000 so he can make them rich. Then he changes into his real clothes and spends his nights begging strangers to give him a buck so he can eat.  
  His failure to become a good salesman or panhandler leads him to a group of friendly Satan-worshiping heroin addicts who believe that in the end of time, Jesus will forgive Satan, who will then resume his place as the greatest Angel in all of Heaven.  
  This is a completely true story. Proof exists in the form of letters, interviews, memorabilia and historical evidence. Besides, nobody could make this up.

  In order to make the chapters more or less coherent, the matter has been slightly rearranged, but certain repetitions will be noticed which are unavoidable, owing to the inter-relation of the subjects discussed and to the fact that, having been addressed to different audiences, some explanation of the bearing of the part on the whole was necessary.   Plutocracy, often described as the rule of wealth, refers to a political system in which economic elites hold significant influence over government decisions, shaping policies to favor their interests. This concentration of power is not limited to authoritarian regimes or monarchies but can also be observed in modern democracies, where wealth and power are deeply intertwined. In such systems, political decisions are often made in ways that protect and increase the wealth of the rich, while the needs and concerns of the broader population are sidelined. 
  The concept of plutocracy is not a recent phenomenon. Throughout history, societies have been dominated by a small group of wealthy individuals or families who controlled vast resources and used their wealth to influence political outcomes. Whether through the control of land, natural resources, or capital, the wealthy elite have been able to dictate the direction of national policies, often at the expense of the lower classes. From the Roman Empire to the monarchies of Europe, political power and economic power have often been inextricably linked. 
  In modern democracies, the influence of wealth on politics is more subtle but no less pervasive. Campaign financing, lobbying, and the revolving door between government and corporate sectors are just a few examples of how wealth can shape political agendas. Political campaigns are expensive, and politicians often rely on wealthy donors and interest groups to fund their campaigns. In return, these donors and groups expect favorable legislation or regulatory policies. As a result, the political system becomes more responsive to the needs of the wealthy, while the voices of ordinary citizens are drowned out.
