Synopsis

Orphaned by his father, David Copperfield's life is far from easy. Regarded by its author, Charles Dickens (1812-1870), as one of his finest works and perhaps the one most reflective of his own life, the trials and triumphs of young Copperfield mirror Dickens' own experiences. Originally published in installments in 1849 and 1850, the novel quickly became a massive hit, eagerly anticipated by readers and lauded by critics.
