Beschreibung

"The House That Keeps Switching Rooms Around" is a hilariously quirky adventure that follows a family who wakes up to find their home constantly rearranging itself. Each day brings a new surprise as rooms move, doors lead to unexpected places, and familiar spaces transform into wild and wacky locations—like the bathroom in the basement, or the pantry turned into a bizarre cheese closet. This lighthearted tale invites readers to embrace the chaos and find humor in even the most puzzling situations. Filled with unexpected twists, funny mishaps, and a big-hearted family determined to solve the mystery, this book will keep readers laughing from start to finish. Perfect for kids aged 5-12, the story encourages creativity, teamwork, and thinking outside the box. Will the family ever solve the mystery? Or will the house continue its whimsical rearranging?

    YOUNG BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE
    PORT OF BRISTOL 1690
Book 5 of 6 – The Ghost of the Back Garden Lagoon
Here is the summary of the Story:
In 1690s Bristol, young Edward Teach (the future Blackbeard) and his crew investigate eerie splashing sounds from a rain barrel—rumoured to harbour a ghost. Armed with lanterns and nerves of steel, they stage a midnight raid, only to discover the "spectre" is a magnificent frog with luminous eyes. Edward, ever the showman, declares the amphibian their new mascot: "Captain Croaker." The crew transforms an old fish tank into a pirate lagoon, complete with miniature shipwrecks and a tiny Jolly Roger. Through this adventure, Edward demonstrates his knack for turning fear into opportunity—a skill that would later define his reign as history's most theatrical pirate. The tale blends authentic period details of Bristol's maritime culture with childhood whimsy, showing how Blackbeard's legendary leadership began with simple backyard adventures and loyal friends.
This is the fifth of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy this fifth instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price.
the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes being accordion, fiddle, harmonica and bango in a classical sea shanty jig. The closing music ends the tale on a similar jig and at about 2 minutes with the same musical instruments but more upbeat looking forward to the next episode.
The story itself runs to about 30 minutes is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

The Hadley family lives in a fully automated Happylife Home, where machines cook, clean, and even soothe them to sleep. At the heart of the house is the nursery, a vast simulation chamber that turns a child’s thoughts into vivid landscapes—but lately, George and Lydia Hadley have noticed that their children’s minds keep returning to the same unsettling place: the African veldt, complete with lions, heat, and distant screams.
As the parents struggle to understand why Wendy and Peter are so fixated on this harsh landscape, the nursery’s realism becomes impossible to dismiss. The veldt is no longer a harmless fantasy but a window into emotions their children refuse to express out loud, forcing the Hadleys to confront how thoroughly they’ve surrendered their roles to the house’s machines.
Ray Bradbury—one of the most influential voices in 20th-century science fiction—explores technology, family, and responsibility with powerful clarity. His work blends poetic storytelling with sharp warnings about convenience, automation, and the human cost of giving too much away to machines.
Known for Fahrenheit 451, The Martian Chronicles, and dozens of iconic short stories, Bradbury shaped modern speculative fiction. “The Veldt” is an early example of his talent for mixing wonder with tension, showing how imagination, when untended, can reveal more truth than comfort.
