As a shoemaker, no one thought to include Patrick Lindsay when gathering forces to fight for Prince Charlie. Though eventually included as an afterthought, Patrick is nonetheless warmed by the soldierly camaraderie—and perhaps a glass or two too many of whisky. But is following the crowd a good thing?

Laila’s healing powers may seem like magic to some. And her secret friendship with Ormarr the Terrible could make her suspicious to many in her village. Caught between an injured dragon and a melancholy ghost, will the rumors of witchcraft prove too much? 
Will Patrick again follow the crowd and watch Laila pay for the accusations leveled against her? Or will he do what he believes is right and take a chance on true bravery?
