Beschreibung

Better Man describes one man's journey through romantic relationships.  The author navigates college, graduate school, and then present day as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.  This book is a story about love, heartbreak, and the difficult lessons learned while traveling the treacherous road of dating.  Striving to become a better man, the author learns about his own values, what he's looking for in a partner, and that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is run.  Getting through break-ups, navigating partners with differing values, and having the realization that just because sparks fly when you meet doesn’t always mean it’s meant to be – these are just a few of the harder truths the author learns along the way.  Better Man is not a better-than-revenge book, geared towards making fun of exes or blaming the innocent.  It’s a first-hand account of three major relationships, told through the eyes of the author as he experienced them.  There’s a shift in perspective from one’s early 20’s into their mid-30’s, and realizations are made…past experiences are seen with a newly discovered clarity.

As the author gets further in his study of psychology and gains a greater understanding of things like communication and what it means for a relationship to be ‘healthy’, his relationships continue to grow increasingly toxic.  Will he throw in the towel and simply decide it’s best to assume he’s had his last kiss?  Or dust himself off and begin again?  If this was a movie, should it end like a fairytale or something more sad…beautiful…tragic?  Will the author end up healing from his past relationships and become the better man he set out to be?  Or be forever haunted?

Let’s hope there’s a hopeless ‘new’ romantic on the other side of the door…so to speak…now...on to the story of us…

He lost his nametag, missed the bus, and was late for his shift in the sandwich shop, but that isn't the worst. But right as he's about to give up, Hubert comes driving on his motorcycle. Vincent Barnes has suffered four years as a vampire, and they've been the most miserable years of his pathetic life. Too poor for black market blood, he feeds from sleeping humans to survive. He tries to never intrude on the same prey twice, but after a single delicious taste of a long-lost childhood neighbor, he can't help returning for seconds.

Wesley Garcia has been waking up with fang marks. Lucky for him, he needs a vampire—to use as bait. He's certain Vitalis-Barron Pharmaceutical killed his mother, but to gain access to their covert research labs, he has to bring them a bloodsucker for their experiments.

Step one, a dramatic offer: Stay, and you can bite me.

Vincent leaps at the chance to gobble Wesley up.

Wes's plan is perfect. He'll befriend the vampire, then trick him into coming to the lab. No fighting, no fuss. But Vincent is more than Wesley has bargained for: sweet and shy, with intoxicating fangs that awaken new desires in Wes. As the two bond, Vincent believes he might have finally found someone worth putting his trust in . . . and Wes fears neither of them will survive the betrayal he has planned.

A traumatic experience in high school has him determined to stay celibate in his personal life. However, his resolve is tested when he meets the very sexy and slightly older Gabe Sutton.
Although Gabe is happy in his work as an electrician for the college's Buildings and Grounds crew, he's less happy with his love life. He's had brief flings with a few men, but none have been worth coming out of the closet for. That is, until a new French horn professor joins the faculty.
Though Brent and Gabe are careful not to be seen in public together often, rumors begin to spread, as does a series of electrical failures on work orders Gabe has completed. Someone is out to discredit Gabe, but who? Will these incidents cause the spark of Gabe's and Brent's budding romance to fizzle out, or will exposing the wrongdoer bring their duet into ever closer harmony?
